  1. I wanted to post this in the "Thinking about" thread, but felt I wouldn't want to start a bickering match in Arch's thread.

Here's what's eating me: the complaining that "I'll never buy a modern here again because of the sub-forums." That's fine with me, I must say, as most of the people proclaiming this don't buy moderns anyway for the most part. It's like me saying, "I'll never buy another GA book again!" My current GA book count: 0

And I will say this, it must be tough to rustle up all these soapboxes that everyone's standing on. You don't want to buy moderns because you have to click a separate link? Fine. Standing with a megaphone and decrying all future modern sales? Pointless. Using your complaints about the new sub-forums as a way to once again look down your nose at moderns and further push your own agenda? Completely unnecessary and needlessly antagonistic.

The funniest thing? Certain proclaimers of this epithet are sellers of moderns! What the krap? lol

And certain members need to stay out of the modern scene anyway.

What I personally meant when I said it was that I used to pick up the casual modern, copper or comic affiliated thingy as an impulse buy and that doesn't happen any more. I don't browse those forums any more.

I can adapt to whatever the majority wants, I just preferred the old selling forum. It was a little more fun and entertaining. Too focused becomes less fun for me.

    R.

    (thumbs u Like R said.

I still browse the moderns once in a while but when i do what looks interesting to me i already gone so i miss it. I guess this way i have more money for my SA.

I like the old format maybe should have cleanned the first page and move all the kudos probation etc threads to a sub forum. oh well just have to roll with it.

I don't know if this is allowed or not, but i will ask anyways.

Does anyone have a real name to this member? I belong to a couple of other chats and there is a new guy on one trying to sell some comics and trashing other peoples sales threads like what was happening here. Just trying to figure out if it is the same guy and WARN other members if it is, because i know of some friends that are setting up deals with the guy.

If you could PM me or post a reply that would be great

    Thanks

  4. Who the heck is Wolfhulk?

More importantly, why do you guys keep doing business with these nobodies? And then act surprised when the deal goes bad?

When you run a public thread, it's hard to police who buys from you. I suppose someone could post something like "I won't sell to anyone who has been a member for less than 6 months" or something, but that's throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Besides, a significant portion of the deadbeats on the current list have high post counts. I haven't seen much correlation between time on the board and ability to follow through with a transaction.

"I won't sell to anyone who has been a member for less than 6 months"

    Well that would really suck.

I have only been a member for under a year and I would have hated to watch the deals that i got from awesome members on the boards here go by me. I guess i am still considered a noobie here but if i hadn't the chance to make my first couple of deals i probably would not have stuck around(the 6 months) and missed out on a great boards and the deals on them here. I understand that there are a lot of dollars flying around on these boards and I for one will not buy something that i cannot afford( god knows i have seen books go by that i can only dream about ever owning) I really enjoy visiting the boards and watching all the different comics that come up for sale and when i find some i want in my price range i try and get them. Sometimes i'm to slow with the :takeit: and i miss out but that life. I watch the probation list now that i know what it is about but don't go and group all us noobies by the action of one please.

Sorry for the rant but thats just my 2c

    and now 2 months later

And now i have 23 Long boxes lined around the edge of the room(no pictures yet with 7 piled into the corner. All non related comic stuff has left the room. Looking a Fileing cabinets to organize with next .

And this is some stuff i now sure where to put it yet>

    970_f.jpg984_f.jpg

    And another pile OA too.

  6. Now all of a sudden that his name is on the list he wants to pay for it....any thoughts?

well isnt that what he has to do to get off this list? ????

Well yes, and no. If the book is still available and the Seller wishes to complete the transaction, then yes.

However, after 30 days, the seller's obligations to make the sale end. If the book has been sold elsewhere, then the only route to salvation is forgiveness . . .

(Dang! That sounds like a preacher to me . . . lol )

What were the books and was there anyone else interested in them. Maybe some ASMs in there??

  7. Getting involved again now, it makes sense to get nice copies put away for investment, and joined Collectors Society (for the 3 free grades, basically, and the 10% discount).

What is this?? I never heard of this before i came got here through a friend who first turn me on too 'Buddy can you spare a grade' forum and then found the selling forum. I never heard about the 3 free grades. Can anyone enlighten me please?

  8. This kudos is going out to comicdey. I now final have a copy of NM 98 :applause: that I am happy with and the bunch of freebies that he through in because he couldn't ship right away. He keep in touch and let me know about the shipping delays which i really appreciated. There were other books in the deal as well that i a very happy to now own.

Thanks Colin for the deal and keeping the lines of communication open. (worship)
