  1. I have the British variants of #1 and #2. Are they more sought after or is it the same like the British Comic Variants, maybe 25 to 50% of the US value? Both issues have the 2'6 price on the cover and were printed in London (says the imprint). The funny thing is, that issue 2 also has "No. 1" written on the cover and on the inside in the directory.
  2. Got a nice Thor lot from Ace, grades are top! It was a very smooth transaction and I'm looking forward to the next great lot
  3. Bought Hulk 5 & 6 from Joey and they arrived in record time in Austria. Grades are like described, very secure packed > I'm a happy customer!
  4. I loved and still love Fangoria, but I stopped collecting it a few years ago. I'm not sure but I think I have them up to #250 or so. But when the first movie websites surfaced the magazine became more and more outdated and I didn't enjoy it the same way as years before. There was nothing new in it you have not already read on some websites. But I love to read the really old issues of the 80s because it's so much fun to read all the things the filmmakers had planned and what never made it into movies (there were really some interesting movies planned back then). Or some projects they talked about they would do next and now we know that these never were made. Or how the praised the movies in advance, even the really bad ones :-)
  5. Very nice seller, smooth international transaction, books were as described. Thanks!
  6. It was a pleasure doing business with Matteo. Very happy withe the purchase and the grading!
  7. I bought this lot for about $100 from a guy who found a small warehouse full of this stuff. But he doesn't deal with comic books and magazines, so he sold it cheap just to get rid of it fast. Most of these are in VF to NM condition, just a few under VF.
  8. I have a question about Golden Age Comics with Double Covers. How rare are they? Are they sold for more than the books with just one cover or doesn't it matter. Somebody is selling a GA Wonder Woman with a Double Cover and I'm thinking about buying it...
  9. Thats kinda creepy I knew it, you only want my copy of TOS 39
  10. Received my copy today http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4731113
  11. I'm a proud owner of B&B 28 as of today. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4731113
  12. Great Report, thanks! I think it only makes sense to use Gerber Boards on higher value books and old books. It doesn't matter which Boards you use for Books from the last 20 years. I had many books from the earyl 90s stored in bags with the same boards for almost 20 years. In the last months, I sorted some of them out to sell at conventions. Yes, some Boards had these shapes from the back Cover of the comic on them, but the back cover of the comic looked like it was new. My conclusion: Yes, the board is doing something to the comic but I think I possibly won't ever see the big difference just with my own eyes in this life. Maybe in 50 years or more but honestly, I won't have the books anymore then. And as paper quality of comics improved over the last decade, I think it's not important which board you use for modern comic books. But as I said, that's just my conclusion for Moderns, not for books from the 70s and older (because of the paper quality).
  13. Yes, the Gen. Rommel flag and his size are hilarious. I didn't know that yellow covers are so popular. Yellow covers are faves for a lot of people! (thumbs u Any particular reason for that or is it just the color? BTW, # 9 is the first yellow Human Torch cover

  15. I got my first Human Torch book. I thought if I ever buy a Human Torch, it should be an issue with a WW2 cover.
  16. Last Weekend, I read the TP Vol. 2 and 3. Wow, it's getting better and better. Vol. 3 with the prison storyline had so many shocking twists and turns, it was like the comic version of "24". I'm very happy that I gave the series a chance, better late than never. The Walking Dead is on of the biggest surprises in recent years.

  18. It might help if you know how he looks :-) This is Darryl Darryl first started collecting comic books back in 1978; he had a small collection of about 500 comics, which he sold to a local shop in Leyton in late 1979. His interest in comics was subsequently re-kindled in 1988, after a visit to a comic shop in Manchester. By late 1989 Darryl had already accumulated several thousand issues. He also attended his first comic mart, as a dealer, at the Griffin Bar Hotel in Leeds, in September of 1989. Up until 1995, Darryl ran his business from a small warehouse in Pwllheli in Wales; he then moved to a larger warehouse situated in Chester, which enabled him to produce his first mail order catalogue. In 1998 he bought an even larger warehouse in Chester, from which he still runs his business to this day, also employing five full-time staff. Darryl, together with his wife Melloney, still attends various comic marts up and down the country, and also runs a very successful mail order business through the Silver Acre catalogue and this very website. The Silver Acre stock currently stands at around 900,000 comics.
  19. I bought the first time from silver-acre last year and after reading this story, it will also be the last time.
