I'd been looking for one like this a while and finally got enough scratch to pull the trigger.
And the Kirby sig is discreetly located on the inside cover!
Claudio...where'd ya pick up the book?
It was on consignment at Metro and, for once, got it at the going market rate.
Very nice looking book, I am presuming without the marvel chipping this book would grade alot higher?? It looks really nice.

I was going through my comics assembling stuff for my board sale (Lebowski's Longbox, check it out! ) and I came across this. Haven't seen it in a while as it was packed up ever since I moved 9 months ago, but it brings back a great memory.
I was fifteen years old, attending DragonCon in Atlanta in '96 (back when there was a huge emphasis on comics) and Jeff Smith was there. I honestly had only read a couple of issues of Bone, but really liked the series. I picked up the first trade and decided to wait in line to get it signed. The wait seemed to take forever and was further punctuated by the fact that the guy right in front of me spent ten minutes trying to get Jeff to look through his portfolio. When I finally stepped up, Jeff seemed really sorry that I had to wait so long. He was very nice and talkative and gave me this great little sketch on the inside of my TPB. In fact, it makes it my first piece of OA I've ever gotten from an artist!
Ahhh, nostalgia...
thats wayyy cool

I think many just miss the point on this series. While I think it has lost some steam the last few issues I think the "Slow Burn" concept via X-men is done here very well. The realization of what his father was and is was brillant what I really enjoyed was that it didnt end there. I think way down the road the first 30 issues or so is really gonna be something special. Its the best I read in years. If the art was better then this book would be perfect, but I can settle for it easily here. Its not hard on my eyes and thank god its not that "unclean art" (thats what I call it)we see these days in several of the top Marvel books.
Wait which part of the art could be better??
Dont get me wrong I enjoy the book just saying if there was anything Id like to see better its the art. Its not that its horrible by any mean, I just think it could be better.
although i do miss crabtree's coloring....FCO is growin' on me...
but fastball...you're still
