Does it make sense to pay for fast track? This company continues to make absolutely no sense after all these years in business. I would love to manage this operation.

I think grading a modern book is easier. I’m going out on a limb and assuming the older books are graded by more experienced handlers

I’m sure there are degrees as to how much canvassing is present. I’m sure there is potential $$$ pressing it out. I’m sure CGC hits it hard

So I recently bought a 7.0 universal. Silly me just liked the wrap being spot on and couldn’t imagine anything to be concerned about. So the book arrived and THEN I decided to take a look at the notes. They read (see photo). I immediately performed CPR, the book was poorly pressed. I’ve added a detailed photo of the canvassing I’m sure CGC is pointing out. To me it looks like the presser used a mesh sheeting i between the book and the press and left the book on it a while as it was a texture you can see and feel. I guess when you buy a used press, if that person you bought it from was pressing iron on graphics to t-shirts, they may have gave this presser that sheeting. My guess. Anyhow, I’m by far not the best presser, but I’ve pressed over 1000 books over the past 5-7 years now. I know my limitations but have this book a shot. Let’s try to fix the other guys boo boo. Got a grade bump from 7.0 to 8.5 🥳 PQ bump 😎 staining? 😕Finger prints? 😕

So far my experience of shipping my moderns and vintage books in the box with my unlimited valve submission has actually been worthwhile. My card was charged last Thursday and here it is Tuesday, my moderns are in transit back to me and while the 2 day TAT for UV is a myth, I’m still pleased, likely because of the grades. And the vintage books are GEI. Time is money is the moro of this tale.

Monday Funday and my moderns are beating the UV books through the process.

Picked up by CGC last Friday and as of yesterday Friday 8/4/23, the UV which state 2 day will likely be/ hopefully be Monday, and hopefully the modern submission goes into hyperdrive like others have shown. Getting that box opened is half the battle.

So this box was marked “UV” and got special attention over others. It was picked up Friday and hit the dashboard late today. All 3 orders are in the queue. I was expecting a quicker opening, but perhaps the other orders comprised that. Nevertheless we got a pulse.

The waiting is the hardest part.
