  1. Thanks a bunch for the offer! Unfortunately I am in Wisconsin so a little too far to drive! Thanks to everyone else for your help/suggestions. The books would generally be for my collection, but I always think about their value as well when considering grading (mostly sports cards in the past). That being said, I have no plans to sell anything, so not in a rush and will no doubt send the books in question to a reputable presser even with the long wait since I really want them done correctly. I may try some quicker companies (or try myself) on some modern or cheaper books in the future. Thanks again and please keep the suggestions coming if there are more. I really appreciate the resource that our fellow collectors are!
  2. Hello all, I have a handful of semi-key/key books (mostly bronze age) that I would like to submit for grading, but they should really be cleaned and pressed. I have seen some very well respected pressers mentioned on these boards as I don't want to go with CCS, but most of them seem to have pretty long turn around times as well. Can anyone suggest some pressers you trust that have decent times (maybe around a month, but the quicker the better). Thanks for any info. I am pretty new to pressing and grading. I have gotten my own cheaper style press, but want to definitely practice a ton more and with cheaper books before I try myself. Thanks again!!
  3. Hello all, I have an ASM 300 that is graded CGC 7.5 restored (minor color touch). What would your thoughts be on sending this for the TM signing? I don’t have any other copies and it would be cool to get his sig on it. Would it potentially increase the value of the book? Should I crack it out prior if I do send it? Thanks for any insight!!
  4. I think it is kind of like an indent, but doesn't seem to break the color. Would probably have to pull the book out again to take a closer look. Maybe it could be pressed out?? Thanks
  5. Another pretty nice book. Possibly a little nicer than the ASM 134 I also put up. Both have some spine ticks, but nothing huge from what I can see. I really love the artwork on this cover and the colors are amazing. Thanks again!
  6. Pretty nice book from what I can tell. Thanks for your opinions!
  7. Thanks @grendelbo! Does anyone else have thoughts on this book? Thanks again!
  8. I don't think either of the other 2 issues with the Shanna MVS would match the back. Still unsure if it makes sense just to have an actual stamp with the book, but it won't be the same.
  9. I thought about the loose MVS. Are you talking about getting another she-devil MVS from another book or one from Hulk 181? If from another book I imagine the back would be different, but maybe having it complete is more important? Thoughts?
  10. Thanks so far for the grade opinions. Since CGC treats tape like it isn't really there and that piece (if actually missing) is pretty small, does anyone think it would lower the grade even further, or would a piece that small missing still have the book in the 3.5 range? I would just hate to lose the piece of the book in transit/press/grading when I still have it and could keep it attached. Thanks again!
  11. Let's keep the PGM requests rolling with a big book that unfortunately has a few issues. As you can see from the pics, the MVS is cut out so definitely a qualified grade. Certainly needs a C&P to help it a little. The tear on the top right corner is hanging on by a thread. Should I put a little tape on the back of the cover at this grade or just send it in and hope it stays connected?? Also a decent sized "dimple" on H in Hulk on the cover, not sure if a press would help that. Back cover has a small rip. Otherwise, it is complete. Still happy to have any copy of this book. Thanks for your opinions!!
  12. Hello all. This looked like a pretty nice book when I picked it up. Issues I can see are standard spine ticks, the color breaking bends on the front cover (bottom right), and the browning of the covers. The book is complete and the cover/pages are not overly brittle. The pages are actually decent color, but again the insides of the covers are somewhat browned. I will try to get some closer pics of the four corners of the back cover when able, but hopefully you can make a decent determination with what is there. Thanks as always!!
  13. Decent book here. It is complete and solid. Some chipping/small pieces missing on the cover, color breaks, and as always probably could use a C&P to maximize grade. Thanks for your opinions!!
  14. I think it is, but would have to get it out of storage again. I didn't notice it when I was taking the pics, but when I was looking at them for this post I did notice it as well.
  15. Hello all, This is a rough one to say the least, but it is a complete copy of DD 1 so I am happy to have it! Obviously tons of issues including tape, color touch and writing on front cover, rusty staples and tears. The cover does seem to be attached, but I am very careful when looking at it of course. Is there any way that this can get above a 0.5? Will CGC give a blue label with such a low grade book even with the color touch? I think it is probably too far gone and fragile for any try at a clean and press, but experts, please let me know if I am wrong on that. Thanks for your thoughts!!
