"NERD" an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd.
Origin: 196065, Americanism ; obscurely derived expressive formation
What is the difference between a "geek" as in comic geek versus nerd??

Wow! Thank you very much: objective, unbias and reproducible!

Now that is what I'm talking about (In the ER we refer to marketing ideas like this one as --JOB SECURITY) -
Thanks here are some pictures. Ours was old and no stadium etc.tudor was the maker -
My grandfather had a vibrating football game and every time we (my brother and I ) went over we were sent down cellar to play the game so we did not bother the adults. I do not remember the name of it but essentially you lined up the players and turned on the machine and they would move. They would knock down other players and the goal of the game was to get the quarter back to score a touch down.
Wish I knew the name of the game we spent a lot of Sundays and Holidays in the cellar playing that game (probably explains a lot!)

Lincoln Logs were my favorite used them to build forts and played cowboys and indians with the lone ranger and tonto action figures (not dolls ) . Hours of great fun and actually used our imagination too - what a concept !
Lawn Darts was a great game too! Still don't know what they were thinking!

At long last I'm contributing to the showroom thread. Here is my Silver Surfer Collection. Enjoy!

I'm focusing us on positive feedback right now because it allows us to test out the one-thread-per-person model without confusing the one-thread-per-person model with the secondary change of combining positive and negative feedback together.
Also, we are preserving the current centralized probation discussion / probation list format in a way that allows the community to review and contribute to disputes. Without that central format the negative feedback becomes an isolated argument between parties.
We could allow everyone to chip in their opinions on each feedback thread for each dispute, but you can see that many disputes would get missed by most of the community in that situation. We do not need to force the community to read tons of positive feedback threads for people that they are not doing a deal with just to see if they can help shape the response to a bad deal. It's a time sink.
Additionally if the situation gets worked out satisfactorily then there will be a lot of clutter on the feedback threads for what ultimately becomes a non-event.
What I think we will probably move towards (NOT YET, DON'T GET JUMPY - KUDOS ONLY RIGHT NOW) is that if a person ends up on the probation list or hall of shame, then a single post noting that fact could be placed in the feedback thread for a person. That way individual threads don't become big clumsy debates but instead are simple summaries of the end results of transactions - satisfactory or not. But the negative feedback would go through the current community filter before getting entrenched.
So will we have a negative (not sure what the Antonym of kudo is) thread?

I use mylite2 on my books and CGC slabs and then I also significantly limit sunlight in the room (only window is below the shelves) and only have the lights on when I am in the room.
Not sure if I agree that incandescent are better or worse than fluorescent (compact fluorescent lamp (CFL)) bulbs.
But I do display my books for my own benefit and change them monthly to limit exposure and to see more books.
Avoidance is the best UV protection.
IMHO a copy of the book is just not the same!
Here is a pix of the display wall:

The shelves are from Schlep (Wes) and the wooden frames are Frameitagainsam's! (thumbs uI love the shelves and display frames. Really makes the books present well. -
I do have stock Dark Phoenix if you are in the market for one let me know!Oh, I don't go after the smaller ones personally, I was just eyeballing the Galactus and Dark Phoenix ones. Although your collection of clix is pretty nice in general. -
I recently moverd them out of their cases and put them on display. I dust them even if they are in curios and this way I can enjoy them more. (thumbs u Nekron is good I like some of the other sculptures better and I was not a big fan of the B&B set. I have the Hammer of Thor (HoT) set on my desk which was a lot better and am waiting for the Web of Spider-man set to come out!

Thanks (thumbs u ! Let me know what Heroclix (s) you need I may have an extra! I have extras going all the way back to Infinity Challenge!

Recently reconfigured my comic loft / room. Changed over from my plastic boxes to drawer boxes to save some space. Here are some pix for your review. The pictures are set up in order of walking up the stairs and then turning and going back down. BTW if there are two of the same perspective it is due to different cameras and I wanted to test the different quality.

Something a little different, i managed to buy a job lot of 20 UK Marvel annuals, some of them are in the best condition i have ever seen. Too many to show at once, so here are the Avengers first. There was 6 dupes in the batch, which i would usually sell on ebay, but i thought i would give them a shot on here, do you think there would be any interest? any thought's would be appreciated.
Got a comic room??? Showcase it here!
