Excellent book !! Congrats. Q. Has anyone ever gotten a good explanation as to why Sub Mariner is so giant on lots of Timely covers ?

I didn't go to the '76 SDCC but I did go to the '77 show and landed two memorable books. The first was a beautiful Plastic Man #10 from Chuck R. at Mile High Comics for $70. A fortune to me in those days. A punky 18 year old kid with a grocery store bagger job and a car. I can only assume it was Mile High Plas #10. I didn't know of such things then, but it was flawless. sigh The other book came from a famous Dodger first baseman who was a comic book collector. Yea..... Wes Parker had a table at the show and he was really into Disneys. I managed to pick up a Walt Disneys Comics and Stories #92 from him. I don't recall the price but something like $12 comes to mind . Such a great show for me and my two buddies Jack and Steve. We rented a room at the El Cortez and stayed all four days.

Just take a look at the upcoming CLINK auction. There are a ton of cool books I haven't seen in a long while. Even the Rifleman "carry your wood" book is up for bid !!

heh heh ..... I'm not a dealer. I just like the idea of lots of books coming to market and the prices coming down

you are a collector, others...... so many others are businessmen and its all about profit, which is a good thing too. we need each other cuz as the boomers unload their zillions of books, its the comic businessmen who are going to land those collections and then be able to supply the collectors. its a huge cycle in the comic collecting chain of life. Hug a comic dealer today

that is a super cool book, but why is Hawkman flying away from the threat ? I bet he is looping around so he can pick up speed for a downward hawk like dive bomb attack

Yea, that's something to think about. I think most collectors are people who remember buying comics as kids...... which is getting farther and farther into the past I think

The 4 mils from Gerber don't need cardboard backing, and if you keep them in mostly filled boxes you can see the back covers anytime you want.
