  1. Actually the editorial states the opposite. The Scientification Logo sold less than the issues surrounding it. (thumbs u Whoops! My reading comprehension skills are obviously on th blink. I plead "not enough coffee."
  2. I'd like to read that. Are the archives a resource only available to subscribers of the paper? The controversy regarding pulp covers also raged in pulp's letter columns. Amazing Stories (April 1929) So the "Scientification logo" cover sold more copies than the awesome Robot vs. Lion cover or the legendary flying man Skylark cover. Obviously tastes change.
  3. Man, that is sad. Steve told a bunch of us the story. I know, I was waiting on everyone else to share with the class but you didn't I think we all want to cut Conner a few breaks because we want young people in our hobby but it ain't working. How many chances do you get? This hobby doesn't need "young people" like Conner.
  4. Are you stupid? I am not Russ! I know him but I am not Russ. Are you Clive? Nope. Clive Jr. ? Nope I have nothing to do with CS at all except I know Russ. I look to buy HG batman books and caps. Got any to sale And Russ is one of your facebook friends. Isn't that sweet.
  5. Awesome Scrooge! I've been wondering when you were you were going to do a group shot.
  6. Awesome! This is the last one I need to be caught up on the Wandering Stars.
  7. The answer to your first question is "sort of". He ghostwrote a story for Harry Houdini in the May-June 1924 issue, "Imprisoned with the Pharaohs," which made the cover, but of course Houdini got te credit, not HPL. No other HPL story made the cover that I'm aware of, unless it was postumous. He had a number of stories in the early issues, which are very rare and collectible in any condition. His first story "Dagon" appeared in the 7th issue, Oct. 1923. "The Call of Cthulhu" (Feb 1928) is of course very collectible. I don't know about a CD-Rom, but Girasol Collectibles makes replicas of original pulps right down to the ads and letter pages and they have quite a few Weird Tales. http://www.girasolcollectables.com/ You can usually get the replicas on ebay for $15-20.
  8. If you're interested in reading them, Dark Horse is reprinting them all right now in an "Essential"-style format. It's a good time to be a Conan and REH fan.
  9. A fantastic cover too, Sir! If only St. John had done a Conan cover - that would have been sweet.
  10. Raggedy Ann is cool too! (but Conan would kick her . )
  11. The ultimate Conan Grail!
  12. New additions! Thanks JR!
  13. I don't usually "pollute" the cigar thread with my non-sequential art pulps, but this one's worth it. First appearance of Conan in the story "The Phoenix on the Sword."
  14. And finally the REH grail I've been wanting for a long time - the first appearance of Conan:
  15. Once again I'm indebted to JR (bronzilla) for hooking me up! First another Conan cover Weird Tales:
