  1. Thanks. I have a thing for title logos and also deep colours such as the purple cover for # 21.

Coincidentally that is why I have several copies of TTA # 54 but none close to yours which is absolutely awesome. I know I am now going to obsess until I get a White Mountain TTA!

  2. Wow indeed!

Just got these in the post today.

Sometimes my OCD pays off - saw Western Comics #'s 17 and 21 on ebay and couldn't resist even although have several copies already and asked if seller would ship to UK - he then offered me 14 more and although I had all but 2 of the issues I said yes because were relatively cheap - $175 for the lot.

Then he asked if I would be interested in 17 of first 24 issues of Brave and the Bold for $300 of which I only had a few. I was delighted to accept. P3030050.jpg[/img]

  3. Thanks for your interest. FF # 4 all low to mid grade ranging from good to very good plus fine at best - hope to get a nice fine or better graded copy soon, Strange Tales all mid grade and again looking to get a keeper as one of my favourite covers.

    Here are some Hulk #'s

  4. Thanks that makes me feel a lot better. I see AF # 15 has also plateaued according to the AF # 15 club thread - is this the case for most Marvel Silver Age keys or Silver keys in general? I had put my sales in the early part of last year for good prices down to the weakness of the £ - also sold 3 copies Avengers # 1, 3 X ToS # 39s and a DD # 1 cgc 7.5

  5. Thanks for your reply.

I concentrated on Flash for a while Showcase #'s and 105-132 but recently sold Showcase # 4 (I had two of these - the one I still have is fair because spine split but otherwise looks nice ) and #'s 105 -109 so need to replace those.

I was lucky enough to snag a lot on ebay of around 150 DC 10 centers for £600 which included the B&B # 29 in my post which had a cross section of all superhero titles.

Went through a sci fi phase Mystery In Space, etc and have also been collecting the DC Western Comics title purely on the basis that I saw a couple of issues at a local comic mart and loved the logo and some of the deep purple covers. Have about 40 of these.

Then I have been trying to complete Superboy #'s 1 -100 - managed 50 to 100 so far and slowly working down.

Thanks to my recent discovery of the boards and the Greytone cover thread I have started a greytone collection. Here is my latest addition scan0005.jpg[/img]

All this has been quite slow as my wife has withdrawn all credit from my collecting and for the last 4 years have only been able to purchase from funds raised through sales on ebay!

I have only recently started reading the board and must say can't believe what I've been missing - seeing other people's collections is really cool and has stimulated me to continue trying to improve my own collection.

PS Just bought a JO # 37! looks like a nice mid grade for £20.

  6. Just tidied my comic room and got my cover recreations framed ready for hanging -still a bit of work to do (another 40 odd boxes to locate, labels on boxes, etc) but getting organised. Plan to remove the the upper shelves of the cabinet (which I've emptied) and hang pictures on the wall with perhaps few on top of cabinet statues/toys. Also framed photocopies of my Steve Rude/John Romita Jr sketches. Much of what I'm doing has stemmed from others on this thread - thanks for the ideas - its great to see how other collectors present/organise their collections.

I also got these Silver Age cover recreations in the post this week - can't wait to frame them.

My wife stopped me spending any money a few years ago so I can only add/change around my collection by selling so although hard to lose a key I enjoy the chase of replacing. Anyone else in a similar boat?
