  1. I'm with Harry. My journal is in the gold area, and I'm aware that not everyone likes journals 'cluttering up' the joint. I also self-censor a bit more now, and have pretty much stopped posting anything that isn't golden age related.
  2. OK, now back in Oz, so time to catch up on the backlog a bit. But before I do, one more bit of comic-related Japaneseness. On a rainy day in Osaka my wife and I thought an English language movie might work. There are two sorts - ones dubbed into Japanese with English subtitles (fukikae) and ones in English with Japanese subtitles. If these hoardings are anything to go by, clearly the English subtitles will contain flawless translations... (I can't vouch for them - we ended up going to the amazing aquarium instead). But enough of that. This was in my mailbox when I got home. The 28 page comic contains stories from Rangers #27 (Firehair) and #47 (Glory Forbes and Jan of the Jungle), a one pager from Planet #55 and a four page locally produced Space Hawk story by Paul Wheelahan. I think this firms up @Duffman_Comics guess that Wheelahan was the local cover artist for the Kaanga I posted above.
  3. And, as it happens, this week was the time for this year! This issue also has a locally produced story by Paul Wheelahan on top of FH reprints. (See my journal page.)
  4. Six shooters back to back to six shooters face to face
  5. Blonde being carried by zombie to blonde being carried by criminal.
  6. 3.5 - 4.0 there was a book in the grading contest last year with extensive water stains but otherwise nice. CGC graded it 3.5 This one isn't as bad, so maybe it would get 4.0
  7. Nice one R-man. I bought a couple of Aussie books from that NZ seller too, which I'll post when I get back to Oz. These do pop up from time to time, but I find them in acceptable grade about once a year!
  8. Welcome aboard DD! Those are all wonderful books to own and read. The good thing about low grade copies is that you can handle them with no concerns. I think you were spot on with your grading. With those two corners off it looks like a G/VG to me.
  9. Blue Bolt with red monster to Blue Bolt with green monster
  10. Just a quick update from my travels. Here in Kyoto they have identified a market segment long neglected in the west - people who want to read comics and sleep in a cylinder.
  11. Large scaly creature, spaceship and tethered woman to large scaly creature, spaceship but no tethered women. (You win is round.)
  12. Boys and Hirls for Victory to War Victory Comics
  13. Skeleton with sword to... err... skeleton with sword.
