  1. I read the entire run of this a few weeks ago. Totally ridiculous in many places, but very inventive and... fun.
  2. One of my favourite Kirby titles, ever since I first started collecting back in the 70s. A consistently good read all the way up until the 'Hulk' issues, if somewhat dark at times. Genuinely surprised and thrilled to see a Celestial in the first GOTG film.
  3. It's interesting reading, but about tulips. Not sure how it relates to AF 15, but it does explain the recent price increases in House of Secrets 92, the first appearance of Swamp Thing; walking vegetation, basically.
  4. My first guess was Anna Torv from Fringe. Katee looks quite different there.
  5. Sin City, which he 'co-directed' with Rodriguez.
  6. Miller didn't make the transition from comic book creator to film director terribly well (The Spirit). The only time his work successfully translated to film was while assisted by a talented director with the right skill set; Robert Rodriguez.
  7. That'd be interesting, but unlikely because I can't see DC and Marvel making a film together, or Zack Snyder and James Gunn co-directing the sequence.
  8. Incredibly talented individual and a modest, nice guy. I wish him the best.
  9. A close second to #93 for my favourite Adams issue. Beautiful-looking copy.
  10. I agree. Classic Bronze Age book, containing some superb Adams / Palmer art. One of my favourites. Common mistake on the label about it being the first Kree-Skrull War issue, though. (#89)
  11. I didn't even notice that Marvel had bought Crossgen out.
  12. Marvel - Malibu Ultraverse, Brian Michael Bendis' Powers
  13. Sounds very similar to my mother's progression of diabetes; retinopathy, later on heart complications. Very sad to hear and, of course, I hope he recovers soon. One of the most significant artists ever to work in comics.
  14. The book has zero relevance to his film and TV work, and so I suggested the only other connection of which I'm aware. Otherwise, the sig seems to have as little point to it as Stan Lee scribbling on a Batman 1 reprint.
  15. Possibly because that's the issue where Northstar reveals he's gay? Possible interconnection, anyway.
  16. Even an oldie like me finds himself pulled in many different directions. I suppose it's useful because I've always been somewhat attention deficient and it's better for me now to be able to switch between a choice of many different higher-tech distractions. But, no going back to those fondly-remembered, primitive days of 50p worth of comic books and three TV channels and an AM radio.
  17. Precisely. You take it or leave it. Some will, some won't give in to corporate demands. It's happened in comics enough in the past for there to be a precedent, anyway.
  18. Or, this could cause more writers and artists to go elsewhere, such as Image, or even to self-publish, rather than accept Marvel's strictures.
  19. I've always thought that, and why I've never bothered with larger smartphones. More one for watching on a large widescreen TV paired with a Yamaha soundbar. Same for films, of course.
  20. Nothing much seems to have been learned from the asset-stripping Perelman years at Marvel.
