  1. I believe Blackstone the CGC parent company has a major stake in FedEx. Must be a great deal on shipping cost for CGC.
  2. Please stop scaring people about NY. I have lived here my whole life and take the subway all the time. Yes, you will see things you probably have never seen before but chalk it up to new and unusual experiences. I see down and out people all the time and everywhere in my travels and NY is really not that far off from plenty of other places in this county. P.S. I would rather take the subway than a Taxicab anytime. Those to me are disgusting.
  3. Try Pinocchio Collectibles McDonald Ave Brooklyn. They have been there for about 35 years. I believe it is very close to a train station so easy to get to.
  4. So sorry to hear about your loss Mike, My condolences to you and your family.
  5. Gee Ron that is funny... I sent this on Friday morning and it is still waiting on approval. Hello, it has been yet another month since I was told a couple of weeks more... Can I please have an update on my Magazine Submission # 4153891? It has been sitting at G/E/I since 12/1/2022. I do know all about the many issues that caused the delay and to a certain degree I totally understand the backlog. The issue I have is that new orders are processing through your system but yet mine and other customers are still waiting for orders. The TAT shows 15 days since middle of April I am at 120 days Please see below... Customer placed order middle of March and received his order already Thank you for your help...

  7. I believe that CGC should first differentiate between Damage and Defect when talking about ME's. 14 days seems perfect to check your books for physical damage and maybe 30 days for defects this would give people enough time to check labels and such. Also, maybe CGC should have different number of days based on the type of account the customer may have (Business/Personal). This way they can give a little extra time to a business which has more volume of submissions. Just for the record I don't feel that it is the responsibility of CGC to give extra time to a business. To me it is up to the business to handle the volume on their own and make sure they have resource to check slabs when they arrive. (That's all part of day-to-day business). Don't hate me it's just normal business practice... There are probably a million things CGC can do with this issue that could be a win on both sides but, at this time I sadly feel that Leadership at CGC has switched to regular corporate mentality which is make money for the shareholders at whatever cost to the customer. The fact that they are drawing an official line in the sand on the policy is funny considering that the product keeps getting worse. Since I started submitting books back in November, I have had a 10% ME rate. That is totally ridiculous in this day and age. I don't know if CGC uses something called Lean Six Sigma but the premise is to lower your defect rate. Good practice is deemed at 3.4 defects per million opportunities you folks have it backwards a million defects on 3.4 opportunities. Work on that first before you lose all your customers because of these policy changes when the issues are clearly yours.
  8. Gee, I wonder how long it will take before people start smashing corners of the slabs with a hammer just because it had a Newton ring when they received it back from CGC.
  9. I originally put then back into the shipping box from CGC after checking them out. I actually really looked closely at these books because they had been the first-time using CCS pressing service. FYI, pressing was fantastic and I was totally impressed with results. I gave the books the total white glove treatment while handling them. (Literally) They showed no signs of coming apart. A week later I put them into those BCW black plastic boxes, Christmas Gift from the Wife. (Very Supportive). They sat in the box for about 5 months in the middle with other slabbed books and as soon as I picked them up you can tell something was definitely wrong. Also, my books are stored in Climent controlled environments so extreme Hot or Cold could only have occur in transit.
  10. Big Thank you to Mike for intervening on my behalf and helping me out. I would also like to thank the chat community for the help and guidance with this issue.
  11. Thank you so much Mike was able to help me out.
  12. @CGC Mike Hi Mike, Someone suggested that I reach out to you about these 2 slabs that had been in the same order of only 2 slabs. I received them back in December 2022 and checked them when received and they appeared fine. I put them in a storage box with 15 other books and they sat there until the other day when I went to sort them into different storage boxes and noticed that they are separating. I was told that since it is past 14 days, they are no longer eligible for ME. I do know that CGC has changed their position on ME's recently, and understand not excepting cracks, chips and other physical damages but these are clearly defective. Please let me know if there is any way you can help, Thanks,
  13. They promoted the person who came up with the idea of a slab that self-explodes after 14 days. He is now in charge of Quality Control. I understand not taking cracks, chips and scratch type of things back after 14 days, but this is clearly product defect. Since they now have clearly drawn the line on handling of ME's going forward just proves that they guarantee absolutely nothing. Not the Grade, Not the Slab and certainly the TAT's, so they are useless to the collector. On another note, I was told by my legal dept to contact the Better Business Bureau on the Magazine issue I have with CGC. (Standard Submission TAT 42 days back in November G/E/I since 12/1/22 and TAT now shows 15 days. Can they be that insensitive to their clients to advertise 15 days when you have customers waiting months and some cases even years. Pathetic
  14. Tried that and as usual they apologized and told me no. It's just a sad company all around.
  15. I like to take short trips to visit the LCS that are in the area, I was in Florida a couple of weeks ago and found many great deals on back issues and owners willing to negotiate on price.
  16. The 2 comics are part of my PC and are really not worth much. I will most likely just leave them alone and use them as conversation pieces when talking about this fine company and their quality products and lack of guarantee on grading. Unfortunately, before this even happened the other day I had already made the decision not to send in anymore of my collection. This service is better off for a dealer who wants to flip something rather than a collector who wants to preserve and protect the books. I have protected books without slabs for over 50 years without issues so I guess 50 more can't hurt. LOL My initial submissions had basically been a test of the products and services Sent in 1 Magazine Press and Standard Grade Tier TAT was 42 days I am still waiting for my book over 120 days even though TAT is 15. 7 Economy sent 1 return stating staple not attached to cover funny that's not how I sent it. 2 Books to see the quality of pressing and grading. Pressing very good and helped raise the grading but slabs feel apart on their own after 5 months 7 Modern no problems received 9.6 and 9.8, books had been around 35-40 years old (No Pressing) Thought that was a little odd getting so many high grades so I sent in 20 more Modern books for pressing and grading. This time I sent in a couple of books that should not grade that high and sure enough 1 book did get a 9.6 that should not be more than 9.0 Damage back cover. Order also came back with 2 ME that needed to go back. That being said as a collector slabbed books really aren't for me, and it is a shame because they do look nice in the holder.
  17. Question... I have 2 slabs that are separating (see images). Has anyone ever tried crazy glue successfully to fix this? They came from the same submission of only 2 books back in December 2022 and when received they appeared fine. After 5 months of sitting in a storage box with about 15 other books I went to move them and noticed these 2 had separated. They are not eligible for ME so I am trying to put a fix to it since I refuse to pay for reholder. Thanks for any help...
  18. I went to move these 2 books today and noticed the slabs are separating. These 2 books had been processed together on the same submission. (No other books on that submission). Are these eligible for ME since they had been done in December 2022? Thanks...
  19. I guess you are correct... They didn't live up to what they keep stating on finishing up the backlog. They also shipped out my mechanical order when my account was on a shipping hold LOL. They had been able to delay it in transit and sent it to me the day I got back. FYI, FedEx put the box by my garbage cans and didn't get a signature. I LIVE IN NYC!!!. My son had found it when putting out garbage. During the last phone call to CS to remove the Shipping Hold, they stated that they plan to finish the backlog between 5/1 and 5/12. This was on 5/5. I also found something interesting on the Better Business Bureau site. Sounds like a bunch of us have the same problem... Maybe we have to go this route...
  20. Supplies are dwindling as we speak. Found plenty of raw books on this wonderful FCBD. Also believe that TATS do not mean the same thing to CGC as it does to its customers.
  21. You should double up on your order, I can see a surge in demand for magazine storage supplies. LOL
  22. My order is from last year and it is a Standard order. CGC changed that TAT last Friday which would mean that they now truly feel confident in all the new machines they put in. If you noticed, they also dropped the price on Magazines which is pretty bold if you are lowering the TAT and have backorders still pending. I think that they may have not only replaced the machines but also expanded for the future when they added Video Games and Funko POPs Also... When you put your account on no ship the book is still in process of grading, they just won't ship it out when done. I will be away for a while so no sense in risking it.
