  1. Here are the GPA results I am seeing as of Dec 2020: #51 - $100+ in 5.0+ #52 - $125+ in 7.0, with last 5.5 sale of $105 in Sep 2020 #53 - $116 in 5.0, with 6.5 and up over $119 all year #54 - $110+ in 7.0+ #55 - $100+ in 6.0+ all year #56 - $100+ in 7.0+ #57 - below $100 in sub 8.0 which makes sense since it is plentiful in high grade; however the last 5.0 sale was $60 #58 - below $100 in sub 8.0 which makes sense since it is plentiful in high grade; however the last 5.0 sale was $71 #59 - above $100 in 6.0+ #60 - $120+ in 7.5+, but below that in lower grades; however 4.0s are hitting $60 which is #61 - $100+ in 6.5+ #62 - $100+ in 6.5+, with 4.0s hitting $80 (and a 3.5 just sold for $51) #63 - $100+ in 7.0+ now #64 - $100+ in 6.5+ #65 - below $100 in sub 8.0 #66 - $100+ in 6.5+ (another head scratcher for such a common book in mid through high grade) #67 - below $100 in sub 8.0 #68 - below $100 in sub 8.0 with Nov 2020 5.0 sale at $54 and Dec 2020 5.5 at $80 #69 - below $100 in sub 8.0, with last 7.5 at $99 #70 - $100+ in 6.5+ this fall And that is as far as I am going to go. I noticed the trend with my auction sales as well.
  2. I just heard from a LCS owner that there are rumors of allocations on SWHR 1. He and I figure it is likely on post-FOC re-orders from stores that were asleep at the wheel. That makes sense with the 2nd print being announced so early.
  3. Actually, check out GPA for 5.5 - 7.5 ASMs between 51 and 80ish. It is crazy - a lot of the slabbed copies selling online in mid grade are $100+ now. The same is happening with other titles now as well. It makes sense - with the amount of money being pumped into the economy we should see inflation sooner or later.
  4. Tec 880 was not an immediate sellout, and it took a bit for prices to take off. It came out during a downturn in the industry, to be honest, and it was the 2011 DC New 52 and 2011/12 Image titles that turned things around (along with a rebound in the global economy as we came out of the Great Recession/Financial Crisis). Rampant speculation on variant/cool covers was nowhere near as frequent at that time.
  5. You made $$$ on the DC keys I have sold you in the past........
  6. The part about buying DC keys? It will hit the point to do so again since all the Marvel keys have jumped. The cycle continues to go on just like it has the past 20+ years with online selling.
  7. The time is coming again to put $$$ back to work on DC keys. Then again, the Batman SA keys have been running nicely the past year and a half. I am glad most collectors were not paying attention - it has made acquiring them at cheap prices much easier than the X-Men I have been chasing.
  8. The problem for this movie is it is an average comic film, and expectations were set high after the first one. We watched it yesterday, and the four of us including two teens thought it was okay. Nowhere near as good as the movie, but not terrible either.
  9. I think it will have better legs than the Dell'Otto Thor 6. That book was released during peak Thor hype, and it does not feature a female character.
  10. I am curious to see how high this upcoming 1:25 will go.
  11. I have not read all of the sample chapters, but it makes sense that a bit Jedi bites the dust at some point since there are so many of them. Sort of like the backup Red shirts on away teams in the original Star Trek.
  12. I think Punchline is going to be more important as Tynion moves forward. He has hinted at the character evolving over the next year. Re: Clownhunter, they are setting him up to be new Robin (especially now with Damian becoming a Pirate or Arya Stark - check out his new costume), but I am wonder if it will be for Ghost Maker and not Batman? Ghost Maker is going to be fun. At some point he and Bruce are going to have a blow out, and it will be interesting to see what happens then. In any case, it looks like a new hero that is here to stay. Jorge Jimenez posted this on Twitter yesterday. I am curious to see how big of a role the Tim Fox Batman plays in the new DCU. He is in the picture based on this, at least, and Tynion had this to say recently https://www.cbr.com/future-states-next-batman-new-dc-universe/ @JorgeJimenezArt 2021 will be the year of Batman series, a new stage, a new adventure, new characters that are yet to come, it begins on March 2, See you there, my friends! #batman @DCBatman @JamesTheFourth @Ben_Abernathy @DCComics 9:33 AM · Dec 21, 2020·Twitter Web App
  13. Yeah, I think it will pop once the focus in the comics turns to the Raiders. Right now it is on the Jedi, specifically Avarr Kriss with Kylo Ren 3.
  14. No. It ended on December 7th. Was the latest CC auction ending that night?
  15. Joker War was a very good read, and the Ghost Maker arc in 102-105 is even better, IMHO. And I have not read any Batman since the start of the new 52 run (dropped off at the end of the Death in the Family arc in that run). Clownhunter is being set up as either the next Robin or villain. Ghost Maker looks like a new hero. Tynion's blog has provided some good insight into his plans over the past few months. He is basically ushering in new heroes and villains to expand the Batman mythos. So far so good. And, I like the way he ties his arcs together and builds from one to the next. He is arguably the top writer in comics now when you take his other independent work into consideration.
  16. A book to add a few copies of is likely Batman 102 right now - 1st Full appearance and 1st cover appearance of Batmoon Knight, err Ghost Maker. I thought Tynion would send him off to a quiet place for a bit when the current arc ended in Batman 105, but it looks like he is sticking around for a while.
  17. And the latest 3.5 sale was $7700. This book is continuing to climb fast.
  18. As Sweet Lou stated, it will affect it relative to other copies. However, it looks like this book may be improved with a press based on the bends on the edges. Someone may take a run at it to try the CPR game.
  19. That has been changing over the last half of the year with a lot of the more popular mid 60s SA Marvel (and SA Batman on the DC front) books hitting $80-$100 in CGC 6.0. Those $20-30 FN run filler books are jumping now. Check out these prices on some well toasted lots with moderate to heavy tanning, and no real keys of note, from the Sunday night Heritage auction yesterday: The Amazing Spider-Man Group of 54 (Marvel, 1966-80) Condition: Average FN.... (Total: 54 ) - $7200 with BP or over $130/book (approximate OSPG value in grade of $1800) Fantastic Four Group of 55 (Marvel, 1966-76) Condition: Average FN.... (Total: 55 ) - $1560 with BP (approximate OSPG value in grade of $1050) X-Men Group of 24 (Marvel, 1966-77) Condition: Average FN.... (Total: 24 ) - $1200 with BP (approximate OSPG value in grade of $800) I was watching the ASM lot and could not believe it hit that high with all of the tanning on the books. It was fun to watch - after it hit the $2000 mark there were a couple of bidders that were in a serious bidding war to win it.
  20. I am curious to see how much more. I am hearing that a lot of stores in other parts of the USA and Canada took the same approach with ordering for this book as they did with other recent SW relaunches and did not go big. Those that I talked with who did up their orders do not have enough to meet demand. I figured Batman Three Jokers levels for this book, but it does not look like it will hit that.
  21. I would not be surprised if the print run is high on it since the FOC was after the Marvel HR 1.
  22. As of this morning, High Republic covers A and B are hitting $15-$17 on eBay and Hans C has sales at $25. Supply is drying up. I think I overestimated the print run.
  23. Just texted a LCS owner friend, and if anyone is looking for SW High Republic 1, contact Marc at Saddle City Comics in Calgary, Alberta. They do mail order and should still have some available. https://saddlecitycomics.com/ Based on the current exchange rate, they may also be a good option for CGC 9.8 pre-orders on books.
  24. Star wars collectors >>>>>>>> Comic book collectors. The nice thing that Disney did for those of us that speculated earlv and very big on it is not doing any real promotion until after FOC. It will be interesting to see the price action on January 4th, the day before the comic hits the stands, as Disney/LucasFilm Publishing and Starwars.com will be holding a livestream promotional event with the creative team. If they talk D+ and movies as Phase 2 of the multimedia plan then things could get even more fun on the 5th. https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-high-republic-livestream-announce StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that a special Star Wars: The High Republic livestream will be held January 4, 2021, at 9 a.m. PT on StarWars.com and YouTube, just one day before the first tales of The High Republic arrive in stores. The event will feature all five authors behind the launch stories of The High Republic — Claudia Gray (Into the Dark), Justina Ireland (A Test of Courage), Daniel José Older (IDW Publishing’s The High Republic Adventures), Cavan Scott (Marvel’s The High Republic), and Charles Soule (Light of the Jedi) — as well as Lucasfilm Publishing’s Michael Siglain and StarWars.com’s Kristin Baver. Fans can look forward to fresh insights into the characters and events of The High Republic, along with new announcements and reveals of what’s to come.
