  1. I don’t think DC SA will ever match Marvel SA either, just like Timely GA does not match DC GA keys. That being said, there will be run ups in DC SA prices after Marvel SA run ups, just like the pattern has been for the past 20 or so years. We are going to be coming into one of those periods again soon as Marvel SA has jumped quite a bit again the couple of years while DC stagnated.
  2. Holy hell Marvel. The SW High Republic 1:25 image being circulated is fricking horrid. I can see why they are scared to post it in Previews until after FOC. 🤮 i guess they used up all the real talent on Eternals 1 variants to try and sell that 💩
  3. Today, a massive print run is likely in excess of 100,000 copies.
  4. I don't know re: massive print run. Talking with three LCS owners this weekend, they do not have any demand for the book so they are not ordering big on it. One of them has someone interested in the 1:50 BossLogic, but since they are not willing to cover the cost of ordering 50 copies to get it, and he figures he would not be able to sell more than 20 copies, he is only going to order to fill file requests with a couple of covers for the shelf. The other stores I talked to will hit the 1:50 mark, but nothing higher. For them, they were able to pre-sell the 1:50 at a high enough price to cover the cost so they are fine on unsold copies.
  5. Not all DC SA keys are cold. Right now it is Batman related keys that are seeing nice run ups, and that started last year.
  6. Wow. Looking at FOCs today, and Marvel is going all out with variants on Eternals 1. I take it that pre-orders are not doing so well?
  7. It takes time for CGC to come out with/change label listings. FWIW, a couple of LCS owners I know that pay attention are suggesting that Death Metal 7 may be the book to have for the Future State 1st appearances. We will see soon.
  8. Maybe down the road, but not now. They will likely wait to see if Red-X actually sticks around, as will be the case for all of the Future State first appearances.
  9. Yup. Second best ASM related event over the past 30 years. The only one better was the Sins of the Past storyline.
  10. The next year or two should be a fun ride if you have inventory due to the number of new D+ and HBO Max shows that should be announced as Disney and AT&T build up the content for their streaming services.
  11. About fricking time re: Avengers 19. I started loading up on that and TOS 94 a couple of years ago and have been wondering if Avengers 19 was a waste of money. The seller of the CGC 9.0 copy for $281 on eBay on November 16th was just a couple of weeks early...........
  12. You need to take consumption of media by younger generations into account here. I look at my kids - they watch movies and TV shows and youtube content on their phones/tablets primarily, and on the flat screen TV when warranted (e.g. Mandolorian right now). That is the future for the majority of media consumption now and even moreso in the future, not theatres. From a content owner perspective, you make more $$$ from direct to consumer than having a middleman (theatre) in the way. And, as a shareholder, I would prefer monthly recurring revenue streams vs. hit and miss nature of the box office.
  13. The normal submission flow was disrupted due to COVID. Dealers and collectors that would have been submitting en masse during the summer convention season on-site are doing it now to prep for next year.
  14. Wow. This week was a fast turnaround. The books went from SFG on the 2nd to Graded and shipped as of yesterday. Thank you CGC. Now I know what it feels like to be Greggy with submissions.
  15. And the key is selling into the short term spec hype before it moves on to the next property.
  16. Yeah. I found the female leads to be much more interesting than any of the male characters. Killmonger sucked IMHO - basically cardboard cutout angry villain stereotype that had no depth. BP was the same as well - I could not have cared if either male lead won or lost in the movie.
  17. This is the trend that all studios with streaming services will follow as monthly subscriptions >>>>> box office returns that they have to share with the theatres for them. Even D+ will sooner than later have to move that way as their content library is light.
  18. That is awesome. Yesterday's cr ap turns into gold 30+ years later.
  19. So you're the reason the rest of us have to wait.........
  20. I wonder if he becomes the new host for the God of Light now?
  21. Congrats. My Modern shipment received on 11/5/2020 is still sitting as Scheduled for Grading.
  22. What are you looking for this time around? I am finally sorting through what I have during the COVID downtime between shows.
  23. Looking at the OPs past posts, did you do the trade for the CGC 5.5 X-Men 1 last year and this is the book you received?
  24. Right now people are also flush with cash that would have normally gone to vacations, concerts, sporting events, etc. That is helping just as much as the Covid cheques - with less options for their $$$s they are turning to cards and comics. If you think the comic market is out of whack, sports cards is even worse. The latest RCs of players who have not even played a game are going for way more upon release than established stars/superstars. It is crazy. The 90s was driven by the general public speculating as well as card money. I can remember being at a LCS the day McSpider-Man 1 came out. There were people taking out longboxes of each cover and thanking the owner for getting them as it would put their kids through college. I was 14 or 15 at the time, and even I could do the math that X million copies of a book = low resale value since everyone would be sitting on them. I asked the owner if the people taking out long boxes were regulars and he said no. Most had just heard about the hype and placed a big order. It was the same with death of Supes - people were standing in line to pay $150 CDN at some stores for just one copy of the book on the day of release since it was going to be worth thousands due to all of the publicity. I had one copy allocated in my file, even though I ordered 10 - if they had given me the other 9 copies I would have sold them on the way out. The smart collectors were the ones trading the hot chromiums, new series, deaths of, and pre-Unity Valiants for SA and BA keys back then. That is how to play this now - speculate and turn the profits into the stock market or older books that are more stable. The owner of a large collection I snagged a couple of years ago traded a spare Harbinger 1 for a Hulk 1 straight up back then.
  25. They changed the dates a while back, but nice to see that they are selling tickets now. I will have way too much stuff to take down for the show if it goes ahead. It has been a good year to buy.............
