  1. Had no idea how much I'd get out of this community when I joined 3 weeks ago. Having collected comics as a teen in the mid-Bronze age (1975-1980), again in the mid-copper age (1984-1985), again in whatever the heck they called the age (1993-1994), it was pretty much a solitary event with a local comic shop my only outlet for puchases and info (aside from publications, of course). Getting involved again now, it makes sense to get nice copies put away for investment, and joined Collectors Society (for the 3 free grades, basically, and the 10% discount). This led to checking out the forums - spent a few weeks reading through threads, joined on 02/11, and already have quite a few folks to thank - First, KUDOS to EVERYONE here for being so welcoming (even the folks who razzed me about Comic Supply - thanks for wising me up regarding their issues!) As for individuals - Ladies first - MANY KUDOS to SKYPINKBLU for allowing me to get some wonderful Katy Keene comics (at terrific prices!) during the VCC that I can send to my mother (who never had issues with my comic collecting in the 70's, telling me how she loved Katy comics growing up in the late 40's/early 50's, and how much she missed seeing them). Thanks so much, Sharon, and I'll be sure to let you know what she says when I get them to her... For great VCC deals, KUDOS to MYNAMEISLEGION and PhiGam for fantastic deals on Marvel Essentials that are letting me reaquaint myself with the stuff I love (pre '75 Marvel) at fantastic prices. Thanks, Sean for the two boxes of goodies, and thanks Colin, for the great deal you offered me. For KUDOS beyond the call of duty, I messaged DIVAD a few days after VCC, when I stumbled across his thread from late December where he was selling a copy of PUSSYCAT magazine. I was sure he had sold it, but since it didn't say so in the 2 month old thread, I figured I'd ask. Sure enough, it had sold, but he then offered me a fantastic copy of it at a great price, at which I jumped. Thank you, David, for letting me add a 'forget about ever finding it' item to my newly-restarted-for-the-fourth-time collection that I realistically didn't expect to ever find in decent condition at a decent price - only to get a GREAT copy for a FANTASTIC price! If every month has just a fraction of the great stuff this one has (aside from the great deals, I'm gonna really enjoy hanging out here. I've very much enjoyed the Gold, Silver and Bronze threads, seeing all those great comics posted by folks like Ciorac (fabulous collection - thanks for posting all those beauties!), Greggy (I'm constantly amazed by the fantastic Bronze rarities you post constantly - I'd KILL to have a local shop that had stuff like that available! My local shop's only Bronze books look like they were put through a blender with carbolic acid mixed with them!), and many, many other folks to numerous to mention. Thanks again for the warm welcome, and I'll be sure to post more Kudos (hopefully not so wordy!) in the future! Allan
