Super noob question:
How do you tell the difference between the G1, 2000 and 2004 version of Hot Rod? I can't find any stampings that would give me any idea what I have here.
There was a discussion thread on TFW2005 about it here:
Thanks, Buzz

G1 has metal feet, I believe.
Reissues also had metal feet.

This was a bad week to take a break from buying comics.

Never found a IV, either.
Had some weird luck this week and found a huge chunk of Valiant last issues and a big stack of the Retailer Review copies of all the '97 Acclaim stuff. Nothing Earth shattering but stuff I never find.

Just ignore some of them on here and you will be fine.
It is pretty obvious who is legit and who is full of it.
i'm full of it but i'd like to think somewhat legit.
That should be the board motto.

I paid $1 for an MP 47 VF/NM in FL last week.
I didn't ask twice then they rang it up $1.
Keep looking
Found an MP 47 for $1 in Florida, too. Dude seemed happy to get rid of it.

I thank all of you whenever i find something crazy. A sort of sign of the cross but I spell out C-G-C instead of making the cross

Some of ya'll are in a huff about this book. It's hot right now and might not be later...that's pretty much the point of this entire thread. Are there merits for it selling at the price it is now? Maybe. Maybe not.
TLDR: smoke some weed, watch Airplane! and calm down.

Found another Showcase '96 #3; my guess it was not a popular title so not many shops have it. But if they did get it, they probably have it lying around somewhere.
I know this falls outside the original parameters b/c it's kind of a key, but Hulk #449 makes me the maddest. Always digging through the 400's and I know it's not going to be there but have to check.
That book drives me crazy, too. Never found one.

Metal feet? Check.
Flames are a decal and not painted on? Check.
However, the holes in his hands are pretty small and the guns fit snugly...which I think is a strike against it being G1.
Thoughts?
EDIT: Almost certain it's the 2002 commemorative release, now.
