  2. I didn’t attend for this exact reason. However I’ve bought some pieces recently for what I felt was a reasonable amount.
  3. Other thread was pooped because someone mentioned they disliked the Covid protocols the show has in place.
  4. Might go Sunday. Here are pics of Moy’s booth my friend took. I believe a total of 5 art dealers are set up. Moy, Will, Glenn, Coollines and Scott Eder.
  5. Many auction houses will not accept items with a reserve.
  6. Bought a Frank Cho Dejah Thoris cover for around $6500. Put it in Heritage after about two years. Sold for $3200 (plus juice).
  7. So the facilitator took a cut from the the commission itself, and to sell it for you? Wow....
  8. Don’t look at the filters. Metropolis, Dale Robert’s, Harley etc are all there.
  9. The art was not ComicLink’s or Nostalgic investments. It’s a local NJ collector. I can ask if he is ok with his name being disclosed.
  10. Express mail is still going to Australia. For overseas I would only use Express or Fedex.

  12. Shut out at the auctions? Fear not! Plenty of new consignment art is available in my CAF shop! Many of these pieces have not seen light of day in over 10 years! Also I’m offering pages from the super popular Batman Fortnite by Christian Duce! Check out his amazing art! https://www.comicartshop.com/ComicArtShopsByCat.asp?GCat=236
  13. I don't think anyone will find that surprising
  14. I find it fascinating that so many people who did not attend the show have so much to say! I had a great time, and it has taken me a few days to catch up and recover! Getting old There was plenty of amazing and new art to see at the show. Was some of it the same as before? Sure. But that will be the same for almost any dealer. This show had two dealers who have not been there for some time. Jim Warden and Essential Sequential. Both brought a lot of great art at every price point. Looking through portfolios of other sellers, there were plenty of great pages at reasonable prices available. Now if you are expecting to buy main stream X-Men, Kirby Superhero, Buscema Avengers etc, yes you may leave empty handed. Anthony was there in full force with his entire inventory! There are THOUSANDS of pages priced under $500 in his folios if you take the time to look. I have found many great pieces within his folders. Jim Warden had a bunch of John Byrne X-Men and Spiderman related illustrations for UNDER $1000! In fact I bought a 22 page X-MEN BOOK by Salvador Larocca for around $100 a page! People, we can complain, or make the best of it. If you choose to enjoy this hobby, you will find ways to enjoy it. If you wish to continue to focus on the dealers that may be priced high and have the same inventory, then you will always be unhappy with the hobby and shows. Here are my pick ups
  15. Tomorrow! I will have some great new consigned pieces that have been in private hands for over a decade. Stop by and say hello!

  17. Masterworks has been doing shared ownership of fine/pop/modern art for some time. It’s only a matter of time until these companies or Rally start this with original comic art. With art bring one of a kind, it’s harder to ignore outliers as everyone will look for comparable results.
  18. This is the following dealer/collector roster as of the date of this post: Bechara Maalouf, Will Gabri-El, Hans Kosenkranius, Nathan Rose, Jim Warden, Albert Moy, Anthony Snyder, Rich Donnelly, Jason Schachter, Scott Dunbier, Dom Masullo, Ankur Jetley, Jason D’Ambrosio, Brad Savage and Dan Pottick. Also, auction houses ComicLink and ComicConnect/Metropolis. If you want to see all these guys under one roof you know where to go! Although our vendor lineup is second to none, Comic Art Con's unique value is derived from our outstanding attendees, many of whom bring art to either sell, trade, or simply share with other collectors. Many deals get done collector to collector and no one has more true original comic art collectors walking around than Comic Art Con!
