  1. I find it odd that they wait till halloween is over ...

when did you want it to air? any earlier and everyone will be out trick or treating. this gives people plenty of time to get home/get the kids home, and see the show live. plus, a show about zombies on halloween SHOULD air late at night. the mood is better. plus, technically, halloween won't be over for 30 mins after the show ends

I really think you are missing the point. It's not about the scheduling of the pilot on Halloween night. I have fond memories of busting butt to get home on Halloween night(1986) to watch the Friday The 13th marathon(#1-3) on Channel 21. No, I think synch means like I did a while back, Halloween is over on Halloween 31st. Up here in New Hampshire, we already have Halloweeen displays up at the front of some stores. Sexyghoul already told me she bought a skull snowglobe at Burlington Coat Factory last weekend. Generally after October 31st, everything goes to 50% or 75% off as people set their sights on Christmas(which some stores have displays already set up at the back of them). Now here's the pilot coming out at Halloween, with 5 episodes being released throughout the start of the holiday season. A holiday season that many people spent in a severe recession this year, but still discovered the good in a lot of people(especially on these boards). Myself, I don't see the casual viewer, wanting to tune in to this during this time frame of the year as TWD can get depressing. But, a few horror movies have done well during the holiday season too(The Exorcist and the Scream Trilogy). I feel this 6 episode show was poorly marketed during the wrong time frame as was The Crazies last spring.

Totally agree on the under marketing of The Crazies film. If it wasn't for the comic I'd have never have rented it out & its a great film. I remember being quite shocked thinking, heck, that was a pretty cool film & quite under the radiar! (not the guy from MASH tho)

  2. I cant believe that Hellboys 1st app. gets no respect in the new Overstreet price guide.San Diego Comic Con Comics #2 is still at a measly 12.00 in NM.Well as Divad puts it "back up the truck" I will buy any and all NM SDCCC #2s at 12.00 :)

That Wizard mag has SDCC#2 at a respectible $250 a pop, I'll go $13 if anyones selling :wishluck: already got me copy but always room for 10 more.

  3. Right so heres a list of what I'm considering sending off,

most if not 98% of them I'm hoping for a 9.6 or 9.8 :wishluck: most likely I'll be keeping them all, its taken me too long to find these puppies and most people will most likely have them any way. Some people might think it would be cheaper to just buy a slabbed one rather than submit, but I like the idea of slabbing my own comic & hitting a high grade. :cloud9:

so if you could be bothered, gimmie your top 5 or 10 of the ones you think I should submit first. most are modern kakk, all 1st printings, but its all my pocket could afford until that lottery win comes in. :insane:

so there you go, just a few, still got my high grade Frank miller Daredevils & Uncanny X-men between issues 100-200 too. but wanna get some of these slabbed before I next move house as I just know, a box will spilt or be stacked wrong & a bunch will be buggered.

  4. Great use of limited space :applause:

Terrific setup -very neat, though Spidey in front of TOS39 is a little jarring, considering the "shelf" book/bust theme :baiting:

ho ho, was thinking the same thing, but love collection, love the big chunky shelves. looks like they could take any weight with no sagging. (thumbs u

  5. My Ward Cleaver Den is always a work in progress. I'm rearranging furniture this week and wanted some photos as it currently stands. Wish I had time for more staging, but so it goes. I imagine these will provide some yuks for the crew below Mason Dixon.

LOVE THE ROOM!!!! :applause: comics & vinyl go together like flies & the undead, sorry quoting Lost Boys here. I jump between collecting comics & vinyl. Fantastic room, makes me wanna collect more. :insane:

  6. So I think a fellow boardie had this problem. I put a note on the 'wanted section' saying I required a raw CPG #1 1st printing. A boardie replied & offered a raw CPG #1 which I accepted. I did say I was after a NM or better.

    So it arrives...

do I get a NM comic? maybe one that looks good on the cover but a few white spine creases to the rear, making it a possible 9.6 or 9.4 if slabbed. NO! He takes all the fun away & just sends me a slabbed 9.8 instead! :o

No raw comic, no undergrading, he even had the cheek to pack it well & not charge for the additional postage! What is the world coming too?

    thanks chainnball, (worship) (worship)

I'm now after a poor Action #1 or Tec #27, anyone? :wishluck:

    :jokealert:

  7. a good way of getting rid of musty smells, poo or smoke is kitty litter! honest. alot of book dealers use this. you put a layer of kitty litter in a cardboard box. put something for the comic to rest upon, place comic in & leave it overnight & this usually works. I've heard balls of newspaper works as well. I'd be careful if you have a cat thou, they might think it an extra loo.

  8. time will tell

I think I paid over $10 each for two issues I got of the Yore comic, but I'm still happy with them, remember its all about how much the comic is worth to you & how much your willing to pay for them. now im off to buy 300 copies from comixpress doh!

Got your #1 through yet John? Wouldn't mind seeing it when it turns up.

  9. I think I paid over $10 each for two issues I got of the Yore comic, but I'm still happy with them, remember its all about how much the comic is worth to you & how much your willing to pay for them. now im off to buy 300 copies from comixpress doh!

  10. I've got the 1st printing. it doesn't say what printing it is on the inside front page its all to do with the advert page on the insdie back cover. I've got a pic of it somewhere, i'll try to find it & get it uploaded although I'm bad at this so bear with me.

p.s. if you like Johnny try Lenore & or a comic called Bear.
