  1. As some of you may know if you have been following the 'silver arce' debate, where I tried to bid on one of their books & was blocked, see blog about it for all the fun details. Well I never did say what the book was as I didn't want outbid. I found it in the states in better condition & cheaper than what Silver-arse where offering. So I won it for $9.99 or something in NM. Its Image Holiday Special 2005, it has a 'stand alone' Walking Dead story in it! has anyone read it yet? I'm still waiting on my copy arriving. I'm sure everyone knows that the walking dead #50 special edition has a WD pitch story as well, just a page or so but worth it for the wd collector.

Thought I'd give u lot the heads up now that my copy is safe.

  2. When i saw Chew #2 in the shop today they ALL had some sort of printers crease defect. Some had it at the top of the book some in the middle, some the dent was so bad it was cutting the cover. found only one with minimal damage. as for the discussion is Chew the next WD#1 ? hard to say, we are only 2 issues in, could you have said the same about WD? time will tell. Its still under ordered, alot of shops still have no idea what it is, just like WD orders may pick up around issue 5 or so then we get to see some crazy prices if people take to it. might get a lift on WD61 as well. :wishluck:

  3. Its true that price wise there is no difference in the guides between the two bats I got, just wasn't the right one & I (quite nicely) pointed out it was not the one I wanted, as I already had the barcode version & if he had the batman design one could I have that. I was very civil about it & to be blocked as a complainer was just a joke. A complainer would have left a neg for a badly graded copy or wrong comic sent. i would have understood what he did if I had thrown my toys out of the pram about it, but i didn't. soddem!

  4. spelling title is a play-on words, that way he cant try and be a funny tewat & say I'm bad mouthing his company. (that & the fact that I am really bad at sepilling). Think his past conduct say it all. Dont think I would have stood for the finger in face pointing thou. I feel a back of the hand, bee-tch slap coming on... Think a great man once said, he can bend over and smell my inner vapours! ;)

  5. I think its weird that when some sellers get too big they forget the roots & reason they started selling in the first place, good grading appears to go out the door, along with decent pricing. Looks like alot of the main dealers go for the 'sod it someone will buy it someday'. They really shoot themselves in the foot as I would have saved up for the expensive stuff. Oh well no great loss for me,its them whos losing out. and anyway, I went back onto ebay & found the same comic, cheaper & it nm condition from the states!

  6. Well this morning I was skimming through ebay before I headed off to work & saw something I was going to buy. Did the usual, logged into ebay & went to place a bid & oh, it says I'm blocked from buying? Quite strange I thought. Having a 100% positive feedback of over 1240 I thought it must be a mistake since I have bought from them before & there didn't seem to be a problem. So, I sent them a message, just asking, 'Hi, I saw an item you have for sale but I seem to be blocked from bidding can I ask why?'

This is the exact reply I got ...

'Hi, You complained about comic, as it had barcode on cover rather than bat symbol its not possible to check photos on every order and as you are 1 of only 2 in 10,000 plus who have mensioned this , its easier not to deal with you

    Regards Anyway Darryl.

Now I remember what it was, was it a £500 comic that I complained about over grading? Did I pull a scam to get money back? nope.

I had bought something like Batman #416 for £2, when it was listed on ebay it showed the cover with the barcode box with a batman design. When the comic arrived it had a barcode design instead. Some of you might know that these Batmans from this era ran into 3rd & 4th printings. so the difference for the hardened collector is big when you are sent something different from what is listed. When I got the wrong comic, I did the right thing & emailed them & pointed out THEIR MISTAKE. A week or so went by & they sent me the right one & said sorry for their mistake.

so do you think they are right? should a customer be blocked from buying because of their mistake? Frankly I'm not bothered now, their grading wasn't really great, although it was an 'ebay nm'. Just to warn other collectors not to complain to them incase they take the hump & block you too! tossers eh? outstanding customer service! whats the loss of one more customer to them?

  7. ok, heres one for you, I think it was called Zombie Lake! I remember it kind of being a war related movie. a bunch of soliders are shot ditched in a lake beside a big house & come back to life, like you do. Theres a shot in it where a zombie stops another one from attacking a girl cause its his daughter? grand daughter?? & he bends over to his her a necklace & jecks (cause hes a zombie), GOD I nearly myself when he jerked!! If I saw it again I'm quite sure it would look like a big pile of poo, but back then its was killler stuff

  8. anybody identify this Zombie film? its typical 1980s gore. Think the general story is a holyman hangs himself & opens the doors to hell, zombies come out & eat everyone, set in a city. I saw it when I was young (wot a great upbringing eh?), I think I remember two things in it, one is a guy driving his car, a zombie jumps out & drools all over his screen B4 being shot by a sniper on a roof & then a cop comes out & cleans his screen for him? another is of the 'dead holyman', walks up to a lady in a car car who suddenly throws up her guts! whoa! dude! cant remember how it ended, think i ran off to bed & didn't come out till I was in my mid 20s. :insane:

  9. For the last few days I have been checking all the decent Scottish comic shops (using that term loosely!), trying to find Chew #1, EVERYONE didn't have a clue what I was on about. not one person knew when it was coming out, or had heard of it, one shop swore blind it was not even out yet. In another shop I found a copy of Walking Dead #61 & showed him the preview (then bought that copy $$$$) :takeit:

Was fast giving up & was going to have to go to feebay, but had one last push & went to Glasgow.

couldn't believe my luck, 2 copies on the self!!  I got them both.

they also had LOADS of Walking Dead #61, thankfully the jobsworth didn't take extra one off me, stating the usual, one per customer. I asked if there would be a problem if I bought 5 copies of WD#61, the mini hitler behind the counter said yes, cause then the comics would sell out. I asked, wasn't that the point of the shop to sell out of comics? He was lost, must be all that black ink in his hair seeping into his skull. anyway, my search of Chew #1 is over. :acclaim:

  10. I did send off my original owner Hulk #340, I had always held off reading it, think I even got 2 copies when it first came out. I was told by 'a dealer' it would make 9.2, offered me £10 for it. thankfully I said no, came back 9.8 that was a nice moment. My Amazing Spider-Man #300 came back 9.2, cant win them all.

  11. This is the first time I've had a look in this section of ther boards & MY GOD!!!! my heads sore just looking at all those lovely books. one of these days I'll have something worth listing, well I do, but got to get them slabbed first. more please. (worship)

  12. my wife is 5 years younger than me & thinks I've hit my head because I read comics. she just lets me get on with it, when she tells her workmates I read & sell comics as a hobby they look at me as if I have two heads, thats when I tell them I sold two comics last week & made £900, that not only shuts them up but they all start to tell me of what they used to read & tell me they might still have them. I smile from behind my pint to my wife as she rolls her eyes at loosing another friend to the madness. lol
