  1. I would like that.

My introduction to him was in The Batman Family comics BITD.

I've always associated him w/ Batman yet he's his own hero.

But I really enjoy when Batman and Jason Blood show connection.

Various animated episodes highlighted their bond.

I'm trying to think whom amongst the Gunn announcements are mystic-based.

Etrican would be nice to see downn the line. I just dont know if too much comedy would ruin the portrayal.

The Thing doesn't belong in his group.  By 1980,he had fought many of them and came out second best every time.

I'd have thought Cap still had his super-strength back then, but might be mistaken. Hank Pym never gained super strength so I don't know why Black Goliath would have. Putting him in with the Surfer is strange.

Nah....I dont recall anyone in Ben's group beating him.

He and Namor were evenly matched in their Marvel 2 in 1 issue.

Sasquatch, Thundra didnt beat him. Black Bolt...dont recall.....its usually against the FF.

Doc Samson beat him??? The Vision.....i dont recall a fight.

I think this was just a strength level grouping. The Marvel U had him at the 70 tons tier.

Contact between Marvel and Hasbro was not in place until after Summer 1981.  Please note while dated June 1982, the issue first was on sale March 1982.

I would like to get the actual date of the toy convention my father took me and my buddy to. It was way before it hit the newsstands.

To this day we remember getting the issue before it was placed on newsstands. And before the action figure was released.

The booth was for the figures and the comic was a giveaway for convention goers.

We were from the larger Adventure Team era and were surprised that they had shrank down to the Star Wars size action figures on display.

At that time I had a regular Local Comic Shop near my school that I went to regularly....so I dont think I "missed" the debut.

  4. I went to a Toy convention and Hasbro were giving away GI Joe Number 1 while promoting the GI Joe line.

This was a good year before it appeared on the newsstand....circa Summer 1981.

I was a kid and this was held at the old NY Coliseum at Columbus Circle that is now the Time Warner Center.

Ill find it and post a pic and see if there are any differences in the printing.
