  1. So, if you are a free member you will be asked to pay $25 to make a submission?  If that is the case it would make sense to pay for it ahead of time

You do have to be a member to submit books.  But at shows CGC attends and for CGC in house signature events a FREE membership is good enough. Since you are posting here you have a membership. So log in and create your submission online for NYCC

Well, when I go to the submission page and click Mail In or Show Drop off it gives me an error and shows the need to subscribe

  3. So, I have cut back on the number of titles I am collecting but this coming week there are a couple of titles that I have been collecting that will have new releases.  What has everyone been doing to fill in the gap of going to the LCS to buy the latest comics?  Any suggestions of where to order from?  How are the condition of the books when shipped (I am a nut and will only pick 9.8s and will bag and board before getting to counter, then only handle books by myself)  How can i be sure the books shipped will be cherry-picked and shipped properly?

Boy, that's a lot of questions but I am sure others are thinking same thing

I should ask if anyone had any experience getting books from Midtown Comics in NYC via mail?

    A rare WL sighting!! :whatthe:

Egyptian Queen is routinely cited as being among the top, top, top Frazetta oils.  People may disagree if it's #1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, but, I would imagine that almost all of the Frazetta cognoscenti would have it in their top five and virtually everyone would have it in their top ten.

Taking a quick glance through my Frazetta books, here's my approximation of a non-controversial top ten (in alphabetical order):

    At the Earth's Core

    The Barbarian (Conan the Barbarian)

    The Berserker (Conan the Conqueror)***

    Cat Girl

    Death Dealer

    Death Dealer II

The Destroyer (Conan the Buccaneer, revised version)

    Egyptian Queen

    A Fighting Man of Mars

The Snow Giants (Conan of Cimmeria)

    Thuvia, Maid of Mars

Opinions will vary, of course, but, I would think that Egyptian Queen, Cat Girl, and at least 1 or 2 of the Conans and Death Dealers are going to be on most everyone's shortlist (my own personal shortlist would be overrepresented by Conan covers, but, that's just me). :)

*** My all-time favorite, for nostalgic reasons primarily.

not to forget the Sea Witch

I love that I can see the texture on top left of the posted image. I cannot wait for the full HA reveal so I can zoom in on this one.

heritage has stated there are issues with the painting

There are some minor drips (it is unclear if they are stains or paint drips) that are all-but-invisible unless viewed with a UV light source, and there are a few tiny white specks in the image area, as well as minor surface wear. The painting presents beautifully with incredible eye appear and is in technical Very Good condition.

and i am thinking in the 3-4 million range.  hoping this becomes the most expensive "comic" related sale ever!

  7. Hi All,

Been a while since I have bought or sold anything on these boards but hopefully some users on here will remember me and, perhaps, put in a good word for me.  I always bought more than sold on here as that is me in general, always more the collector than dealer.  It is a rare occasion that I have some books to sell.  I am on eBay as Medusa915 but unfortunately i haven't sold too many comics on there either.  Not sure what I can say to make any potential buyer feel comfortable but I promise that I am an honest seller that will have more books to offer in the future so certainly am not looking to make any enemies.  All books will be shipped to survive the trip and then some, in a well padded box etc...Am open to offers also...try me :)

  8. Hi All,

Was on the boards before the change and signed up after the change and somehow i wasn't able to keep my old username so i just added a 1 to the end of it.  anyway, i have bought from many of the people on here and may have sold a few books to others also.  i have a batch of new books that are fresh back from CGC and want to take some pictures of them but i am not happy with the results so far.  too many time my reflection is very obvious or there is light bouncing off the slab etc.    Can I get some suggestions as to the best way to photograph comics.  have some hot bronze age books that really need to be sold.  All help would be welcome....  thanks!
