  1. So I just had a 12 comic submission under Fast Track Modern complete in world record time — two day turnaround! (received May 31 and shipped today). However, the grades are awful. 11 of the issues were strong 9.8 candidates, but nine ended up at 9.6, and two at 9.4. The remaining comic I submitted for a friend. I had it pegged at 9.4-9.6... it came back 9.8. Go figure.
  2. Final score of 24. A lot of close ones, some bullseyes, and a few disasters. Not too shabby. Thanks Mike for running this!
  3. So close… Rex Dexter of Mars #1: 1.8 Lawbreakers Suspense Stories #11: 7.0 Action Comics #242: 5.0 Scooby Doo #1: 6.5 Amazing Spider-Man #300: 9.4
  4. I just received an email update: "It does appear that your invoice is past due. I have sent a message down to have them locate and rush the order. Please note, however, that it can take some time to locate an invoice due to the extremely high volume of submissions we have at the moment. We will locate the order as quickly as we can and get it moving for you. Also, CGC has offered to refund the grading fees for you."
  5. Figured I would add my experience to this thread. I have a magazine at CGC in the walkthrough tier — entered November 10th and it is still sitting in the "Scheduled for Grading" phase. I emailed support last week and was told "it should be done any time" and that they would send a message down to get it moving. As of this morning there is still no movement so I called CGC and the customer service rep thinks my magazine was put into the wrong service queue. She is investigating and will send me an email when she finds out more. I also requested a refund and she said they will be able to do something for me. I have more books that I want to send in but I am pretty hesitant to do so between this, the experiences in this thread, and from stories I am hearing from dealers.
  6. Raw copy of Amazing Spider-Man #300 — VF to VF+ range & Amazing Spider-Man #301 CGC 9.4 with white pages Moved to ebay
  7. My initial grade was in the range of 8.0 to 8.5, leaning more towards 8.0. I did some research on the jagged edge and it seems CGC is lenient towards this because it's a common production issue.
  8. I guess I'm also having trouble determining the difference between regular cover fold creasing and when it crosses over to actual spine fraying. I have four copies of PWJ #6 and they all exhibit cover fold creasing to various degrees.
  9. So I've been searching through the boards for more information on frayed spines. I've read the Let's see your 'frayed spine' downgraded slabs!!! thread and it raised some questions. I have some books from the 1990s that I'm considering sending for grading but they all exhibit varying degrees of spine fraying. I always assumed that this was considered a production issue (with possible exceptions when particularly excessive), but it seems that CGC is now factoring this into the grade. What's the current consensus on this? Also, I've attached a photo of part of the spine from one of my copies of Punisher War Journal #6. This book is pretty much a 9.6 aside from the spine, and I'm wondering how present day CGC would assess the grade.
  10. Yes the book was pressed prior to grading. Also, I've examined the back spine very closely and I can't find anything that would drop the grade so drastically.
  11. I'm confused about the grade I received on this Wonder Woman #1 and am looking for opinions. I can't see how this got a 9.0 — only grader note is "stress lines back cover".
