  1. I always thought Daredevil was pretty ridiculous. His superpower is that he can't perceive the world as well as others.
  2. The most interesting GA estimate to me is Cap 1 being so much fewer than Bat 1. Going back to the early 90s everyone I spoke with always considered them about the same in terms of scarcity, with Cap 1 being more common if anything.
  3. Here's what Battle 40 was originally supposed to look like.
  4. May 1955, Heath did every war cover for Atlas this month. The Battle 40 originally had the guy's head/face shaded out, Maneely redid that portion.
  5. The SA key numbers are waaaaay off. There are around 6000 X-Men 1s certified.
  6. If it's fire resistant, then it's probably not a good safe for comics.
  7. If it's acceptable to wipe dirt off a cover gently with your hand, then shouldn't it also be acceptable to wipe just a bit deeper with a belt sander?
  8. Just wait until you see how lousy a job CCS does with the pressing.
  9. I'm asking out of genuine curiosity, not being obtuse. But isn't Frazetta's aesthetic pretty derivative of J Allen St John? I don't know what the prevailing opinion is on this. Obviously almost all art is derivative in some fashion, but the gap between the two doesn't seem to be a giant chasm.
  10. Mike, has anyone reached out to your case supplier about their QC? Seems like you could cut down on your complaints if you made sure that your supplier was providing unscuffed/chipped cases.
  11. You could have just told the customer it was color touched without looking at it and probably have been right.
  12. I wouldn't think that Absorene is what would be used on something like this. It might be a small part of the cleanup process, but what bronze johnny is getting at is more likely the hydrogen peroxide or blue light LED treatments.
  13. It would be better if he scrawled a bunch of curliques all over the background like the master Frazetta.
  14. I'm not arguing that it's successful. And I'm not arguing that it's not a technique, and one that Frazetta uses often. I'm just arguing that in this particular instance it's execution is awful. But I think we're arguing opinion at this point, and I don't want to do that.
  15. I never noticed it before because I never looked at it before. I've never bothered to look at it with anything more than a casual glance. And yes. It's awful. There are ways to make that detail sparse without looking like your dog walked across it with paint on his tail.
  16. I've never noticed that before, but now it really stands out. That's pretty awful.
