  1. The most recent sale was just a bit lower than prior sales. That $1560 sale was part of a few just crazy numbers for the title that can't be taken as reproducible. It's about 5 times the average sale for that issue.
  2. I targeted only a select few, and couldn't be happier with my choices. If I tried to sell them now, who knows what would happen, but I didn't buy them for an investment, I bought them as a collector.
  3. Admit it Dean. You had it pressed and resubbed.
  4. The color on their cheeks matches her dress. I think they were motorboating.
  5. If you just told me the prices on this most recent sale for all three I would have thought they sounded high. I mean... Kerry Drake and Li'l Abner?!?
  6. I agree with the consensus of 3.5/4.0. If that's a split, then maybe even 3.0. Regardless, it's a really cool item.
  7. It sold on Clink long ago when I was a poor student. If it came up again... I chatting with the IDW guy a while back about why they haven't done a Heath AE. My feeling is that Flesh and Steel was coming out soon and might conflict with sales. But Lord knows there's enough material out there to make several outstanding volumes.
  8. The one on the bottom right looks overgraded.
  9. Thanks for posting all of these, I really like the Art Deco feel of this one with all of the white clothing in the background.
  10. It's so bad on this copy, but surprisingly doesn't detract as much from the appeal as it could on another book.
  11. Does that explain my obsession with collecting and spending beyond my means?
  12. That's the only nice copy I've ever seen of that book. War books fall somewhere between PCH and Romance when it comes to scarcity, but in terms of scarcity in grade they start to rival romance. For many a VF is probably the best existing copy.
  13. Heritage has 8500+ results for "Mile High CGC". Comicconnect has just under 1500 in their archive, but you can't split up CGC vs raw. A cursory glance looks like at least 75% are certified. Now, a lot of those are going to be duplicate sales, but more are not. Then factor in Comiclink and other platforms, I'd venture a guess that at least half of the Church books are certified, but that still leaves a LOT of books that aren't slabbed. Also, looking at past sales of great GA books makes me very sad.
  14. Heritage is going to be having an auction focused exclusively on War comics. I'm pretty excited to see where things settle out. So far there are some pretty stellar offerings. A War 11 in 7.5, the previous high offering was 5.5! That's remarkable after over 20 years of CGC. An 8.0 Battle Action 11 (scan not up yet), 7.5 Battle Action 15 (friggin tough book), the top census (7.0!) Battlefront 15, Men's Adventures 20 in 9.2!!!, War Adventures 13 in 8.0 (a 6.5 got more than $2k, jeez), and War 23 and 26 in 8.5 stand out to me so far. Should be a nice barometer of where the market is. I can't believe there hasn't been a War 11 offered publicly in even 6.0 before this.
  15. It's unreasonably difficult to find in decent shape. Took me 20 years to find this one.
