  1. Denis Beauvais is definitely a real artist, and not a cartoon delinquent, I promise! Did beautiful airbrush art on the second Aliens series from Dark Horse, among other things. Does beautiful stuff.
  2. The Beauvais stuff is definitely gorgeous, but my heart will always belong to the Mark Nelson stuff. The one guy on CAF has the original to the Dark Horse poster, and I couldn’t be more jealous. I stared at that poster throughout most of my childhood and teen years.
  3. Yeah, I consider myself an Alien collector more than anything else. It’s been my lifelong love, and it’s fun when it crosses over to my other loves of comics and toys!
  4. Aw thanks bud. I just get lucky sometimes! Never stop digging!
  5. Absolutely! The newsprint gives it a funky, almost underground vibe. As for the art, the last time I checked, most of the “money” pieces belonged to one guy, you can see them on CAF. There are almost never any pieces with an actual xeno on the market. However, non-xeno pieces were available on the cheap for many years, like $200 each. I had a few, sold all but one to a single collector. I kept the only one I had with an actual alien on it (a lone chest burster.) Last time I looked, one guy bought up all of the cheap stuff, and now I think he’s sitting on them. So unfortunately there’s just not much Mark Nelson stuff around.
  6. Ok, so it’s just two wraps (including the cover) for a total of 8 pages. Very thin newsprint. The smell takes me right back to the day I bought the first issue off the stands at the comic shop! Having trouble uploading the pics for some reason, maybe they’re too big. Will get them up in a bit.
  7. I dig it. I've heard from some folks who don't like it, and I'm like, it's a rocket powered muscle car Batmobile. What on earth is not cool about that? Even if the movie blows (and I hope it doesn't) this car is righteous!
  8. It's pretty thin, only a few. I'll take some interior pics when I get home!
  9. Was bagging up some magazines last night, and ran across these, having completely forgotten that I'd picked them up. The newsprint they used is really flimsy, so it's hard to keep these in nice shape.
  10. @Jasonmorris1000000congrats on the pick-up! DD 1 is such a great book. I've owned a couple, I need to get one back in the collection. Looks like a nice copy for the grade too! Can't go wrong with DD. As for me, I don't have anything fancy this week. I did stop in a Peddlers Mall last weekend, and picked up a few random bondage covers. I really didn't do it intentionally, honest... One day I will find a Lost in Space Annual 1 in the wild. Until then, the #1 is a worthless, yet amusing cover. The Lois Lane 111 has been one of my favorites for 25 years or so, I grab them if I find them cheap. It combines several favorite perversions: 1. headlights/bikinis 2. bondage 3. giant lady It's the creepy trifecta!
  11. My BAT finally arrived from Pulse. Nice! Looking forward to the rest of my order showing up from BBTS. Stopped by a Peddlers Mall while we were out of town last weekend, and found another GI Joe Classified shipper/display for $20. Couldn't pass that up. I got my first one directly from Walmart, so it was free. They don't come up for sale often, and when they do, they're a lot more than $20, so I had to grab it. They make for a really nice display. Wish I had a couple more!
  12. Ha, I guess at the end of the day, CSV is CSV! None of it is pretty! It's funny, because a couple of days ago, when I logged into my eBay account "Payments" tab, it has a link saying "Your 1099k is ready!" But when you went to the Taxes section, it wasn't there. NOW...that "Your 1099k is ready" blurb is missing. So I'm assuming that was a mistake of some sort. Now to twiddle my fingers until the 31st. I've got my W2's, I've got my Schedule C mostly filled in, just need that 1099k so I can send it to our tax people and hopefully not think about it again. Gotta love tax season!
  13. Yeah, my eBay 1099k still isn't showing up. I didn't have any Paypal transactions last year. Since eBay moved to managed payments, all of my business was through them. I guess if I don't have it by the 31st I'll call them. I'm sure that will be a barrel of laughs. Nothing more fun than calling eBay... I wish I was still using Paypal through eBay. Their reporting is so much cleaner and it was much easier to track my transactions through the year. eBay's report is just a big nasty csv dump, and I have to put all of my own formulas and stuff in to figure up what I'm actually going to owe. Oh well, it is what it is.
  14. I'm concentrating on finishing up my IDW hardcover collection before they go out of print. Only three books left on Phase 1 & 2, then need Phase 3, and the new stuff, which I haven't even read. I'm hoping that the new licensor will give us new hardcovers of the Marvel stuff (G.I. Joe as well.) They're long overdue.
  15. Very cool, that's a Penney's/Sears version, right? I dig these and the hasbro direct mailaways. Tough to find these days.
  16. I am tempted, though I don't collect MP scale. Raiden always seemed so cool and interesting, since it wasn't offered domestically. This looks like it's going to turn out really nice, but the total investment is more than I can really justify. We'll see how my (legendarily weak) resolve holds up.
  17. Yeah, they're pricey, but I can't resist. They're $17.99 at BBTS, which I think is about as good as they get. Target has some of wave 1 online (but not the entire wave, and none of wave 2) so I guess it's possible to work a better deal on some figures using Target Circle deals, Red Card 5% off, and free shipping. It's interesting to me that Wave 2 is already hitting the shelves at Target, whereas Wave 1 still hasn't shipped to me from BBTS. Price aside, I'm all onboard for these. Each wave is giving us like 9 variations on troop builders, if not more. That's insane! They also look so great on card. If they weren't so crazy pricey, I'd be buying two sets of every wave. But a man must know his limits!
