  1. Hmmm. It seems that I'm too late to the party for GL keys. My limit on a single book is $250 for financial reasons so I guess that prices me out on just about all of them or is it still possible to get any for that price or less? At least I got my 6.5 GL 76 7 months ago when prices were a bit lower.
  2. Are there any particular grades to aim for or is it not all that important? um. highest grade possible without overpaying. OK. So, say I want GL 7. We established earlier that raw prices for 6.0 are usually $100. Given the current boom in prices, what price would be overpaying for this grade? price for a raw 6.0 is $100 ? No, what Gator said is that right now its around $100 a grade point, so $600 (he mentioned CGC graded copies also). Obviously the higher up you go the rarer the book gets as it is an early 60s DC and that formula probably stops working once you get to the 7.0 and up range. Let me know if I've got this right as I'm not sure I understand what is being said. If the grade point is $100 for this issue, is the current price scale something like this: 3.5: $100 4.0: $200 4.5: $300 5.0: $400 5.5: $500 6.0: $600 6.5: $700 Please let me know if I have understood this correctly.

  5. I'm looking to buy a Green Lantern 7 in 6.0. What price should I expect to pay for it in that grade? they seem to go for about $100 a point... not saying they "should" go for that much, but with movie hype, etc, that is what I have seen Is that for raw copies or slabs?

  7. Yep. I'd say that the only decent ones I've ever been to are Gosh (for new stuff and non-superhero fare), Orbital (for new and old comics plus decent signings) and 30th Century Comics (for its huge range of vintage comics).
  8. Great tutorial, Gav. I assume this method of packaging can also be used for CGC submissions? I intend to send my first batch of comics to them soon.
  9. I'm sure it will be offered on the sales forum before long.
  10. Having dealt with Richard, i would say that should not be mentioned in the same breath as Daryl, but his grading does leave a lot to be desired, Indeed. I bought quite a few comics from in May and most were overgraded. I shan't order with him again.
  11. So true. At least I found out what they were really like early on in my collecting rather than continuing to buy from them for months and years.
  12. I wish I found out about Silver Acre earlier. I bought about £200 worth of books from them before I found this forum. I'll never buy anything from then again or Quicksilver for that matter!
  13. Nice Joker comics. I have the first issue (6.5 IIRC). There's an 8.5 copy of issue 3 on eBay right now that I'm tempted to buy.
  14. Today's handing out of kudos: mazman77 for a ton of awesome books and all accurately graded. cloudofwit for two great ASMs rube11 for an excellent (and well-packaged) UXM 266 slab. Max Carnage for a ton of well looked after Spawn comics.
  15. Kudos to the following: ColleSystem for several superb quality books. Comicseekers for finally enabling me to own an affordable copy of Batman 232. Green for a fast and hassle free transaction. Namisgr for a really cool looking issue of Watchmen. Schleprock for an awesome pair of Spidey comics. (thumbs u
  16. Kudos to apollobuzz and comicseekers for fast international shipping. Top gents both of them. And belated kudos to Boozad for a very nice slabbed copy of Batman 251 as well as hesdeadjim and LloydJBailey for buying my early Iron comics from me.
  17. Some of you guys must be millionaires judging by all the space in your homes you have dedicated to comics!
  18. Big fan of The Punisher here. I currently have the first 8 issues of the series that started in 1987. All are VF/NM. His appearance in Amazing Spider-Man 129 is my holy grail of comics. If only I could find a decent copy that I can afford!
