I did copy and paste both your and i8beef's posts into the e-mail that I originally started about your missing book.  I also mentioned the switch that needed to take place, and i8beef will still have 3 missing books.  I was not asked for any more info.   The operations manager told me this:

"The team has been looking into these to get them back to their original submitters."

    Thanks Mike.
It’s always just a little frustrating to get the “management” non-committal answers.
I appreciate you though. And everyone who is working to get i8beef’s and my books back to us!

I am 99% that is one of my 4 missing X-Men #1s that had Claremont signatures... the Claremont signature looks absolutely identical (checked against previous image I had).

The ones I got back were someone else's books, and have been sent back for ME already. The copy of that book I got back had two new signatures from Lee / Williams, did NOT have my Claremont sig though the label said it did with the date of my original Claremont signature...

I'm not sure how to get CGC to connect the dots on this, but I'll mention this thread in my email chain with them, if you're lucky the copy of this I got was yours.

I agree that it looks exactly like the book I received.
As you can see I tagged Mike here. But I also messaged him and messaged you.
I’d really like if you and I could get this handled by CGC.

@CGC Mike it looks like we might have found the winner. His book in this pic looks like it’s the exact book I returned to you guys.

think you can get the two of our books exchanged?

    his should have Chris’s Signature.
    mine shouldn’t.

and both were sent in for this event.

The artist has to reach out to the Signature Series team and receive a creator agreement form. They then fill it out and return it so the book can be recognized under the SS program. Some artists will do this some will not, many that have never worked with CGC usually don't.

I just learned the artist has worked with CGC just recently.  I will talk with her once I get on her commission list.

    Thanks!

Could you send this book back to us?  You can do it as a mechanical error.  I guess you could just put it under wrong label info.  Be sure to write ATTN:  Matt Nelson on the box.  Please put the attn on the packing slip as well.  Also write that you received someone else's book instead of yours.  Also, can you send me the tracking number?

I am sorry that you are having to go through all of this.  We will try to track down your book.

I am doing the ME as I type this up.  Fedex delivered the book yesterday.  I should have it enroute today.

    Thank you

  6. I recently received a book back that wasn't what I sent in.

I am actually about to do the Mechanical Error they requested to send it back.
I am hoping they find my book.  And I am hoping whoever's book I received is able to get theirs back.

FYI - 3 of my Jim Lee submissions (all remarques or sketches) are still "received at CCS," so I inquired about what was going on. I was told by customer service (via email): "due to the volume of submissions from the Jim Lee signing, we had to schedule a second wave of remarques which all three invoices fell into. These are still with the artist, and we are waiting on them to be returned. Normally when this happens, when we get them back, they will be rushed through to make up for lost time." Has this ever happened to anyone else before? I'm trying to get an estimate for how long of a delay there may be - but they couldn't provide any.

It’s hard to give an estimate, and they probably don’t because it depends on how long it takes for Jim to get them back to CGC.
after that I feel like they “fast track” the books based on other answers I’ve seen.

It should be arriving to my house soon.
what happens if you guys don’t track down my book after you guys receive this one back?

this is a first for me. And it doesn’t seem like it’s a super common problem.

thank you for your help so far.

  9. Hello All-

Did you send in an X-Men #1 for the Jim Lee, Scott Williams to sign in the November Event?

Did that comic book already have a signature from the great Chris Claremont on it?

Then you're in luck.  I have your comic book.  I already reached out to CGC to inform them that they were sending me the wrong book.  And they asked me for a picture of the comic I sent in.

Well foolish me... I didn't take a picture of the best selling comic book of all time to prove it didn't have an autograph already on it.  Though I'm not sure why anyone would try to lie and tell CGC that a book WASN'T previously autographed... but stranger things have happened right?

I'm only sad because this book had sentimental value to me more than any monetary value.  I think it was in excellent condition, but I have no idea what it would have been graded at.  But I didn't care, as it was the first comic book I bought myself.

I have included a cropped picture from their scan they posted to my submission. please let CGC know if this is your comic and you have a photo to prove you sent it in with the signature on it.

Does anyone from CGC have any advice or insight to help me out with this?

    Thanks!

  10. This will be my first submission to CGC. Not only for grading but also for a private signing and a pressing.

But I find myself very worried about sending the comic out. It’s not 4 digits valuable, but it’ll be the most expensive comic I own.

And I just can’t get past the idea that it’ll get lost or destroyed.

Did you guys have difficulty letting go your first submission?
