  1. STAR TREK BEYOND Casts Lydia Wilson In Mysterious Role

Star Trek Beyond has beamed up another new recruit in the form of Lydia Wilson, but in keeping with pretty much every other casting announcement for this movie so far, we have no details about the character she'll be playing whatsoever.

Wilson will probably be best known for playing Domhnall Gleeson’s sister in the Richard Curtis romantic comedy About Time, but she also popped up in the haunting sci-fi drama, Never let Me Go. Whoever she's playing she joins returning cast members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana and Anton Yelchin; along with other new faces Joe Taslim, Sofia Boutella, and Idris Elba - who we do know will play a villain, at least.

I don't know why, but I'm getting a 'Ilia' vibe from her.

I was thinking the same thing

  2.

by now movie goers must think Doom is the only super villain the FF ever fought.

Thanks kind of like Shredder with the TMNT. They've got plenty of villains, but Shredder always gets crammed into the mix.

seriously, screw doom v FF, I'd loooovvvee to see a doom v mephisto for the soul of his mom. No origin story needed. He's just the king of Latveria, he wears a mask, he's got some science and magic powers, he's mostly evil but also mostly cares about his people, and he wants to effff up mephisto....anndddd go!

Doom is a very interesting character.

While he's a villain to the F4,he does help them out when things get really bad.

He's neither hero or villain,he mainly helps when it benefits him.

He also wants to prove that he's better scientist than Mr.Fantastic, and in some cases he is.

I would love to see a team up with Dr.Strange and Dr.Doom battling Mephisto.

  3. OH MY!

Josh Trank Lawyers Up As Shocking Details About His On Set Behaviour Emerge

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: 'Fantastic Four' Blame Game: Fox, Director Josh Trank Square Off Over On-Set "Chaos"

With Fox furious about his now deleted Tweet about the movie, the trade reveals that pit-bull lawyer Marty Singer has been hired to advocate on Trank's behalf.

    Wow! :ohnoez:

After sending an email to select members of the cast days before the movie was released in which he said Fantastic Four was "better than 99 percent of the comic-book movies ever made," he received a response from one cast member with only: "I don’t think so."

    Ouch! :o

    • Trank apparently didn't produce good enough material to ever create a film which could be salvaged, and refused help from the studio and producers. "He holed up in a tent and cut himself off from everybody," one insider tells the site. "He built a black tent around his monitor. He was extremely withdrawn. [He] would go to his trailer and he wouldn’t interact with anybody."
    • While Fox initially had faith in Trank's vision of a grounded and gritty Fantastic Four movie, it appears as if the filmmaker took that too far as he forced a gloomy tone on the movie by obsessing over the cast's performance. "During takes, he would be telling [cast members] when to blink and when to breathe. He kept pushing them to make the performance as flat as possible."
    • You may remember some time ago that Josh Trank and his dogs were accused of causing as much as $100,000 worth of damage to a house which was rented for him in Baton Rouge by Fox. After landlord Martin Padial made moves to evict the director, "photographs of the landlord’s family that were in the house were defaced. Padial made a complaint to the local sheriff’s department and filed a civil suit in Louisiana that is sealed. The sheriff’s department says the case was 'closed as a civil matter between landlord and tenant.'"
    • Before you completely blame Trank for how Fantastic Four turned out, one source says that the movie was always "ill-conceived, made for the wrong reasons and there was no vision behind the property." Fox were terrified of losing the rights to Marvel and the reboot was in chaos before shooting even started. They "were afraid of losing the rights so they pressed forward and didn’t surround [Trank] with help or fire him. They buried their heads in the sand."
    • While they initially considered firing Trank, Fox had faith in the director and believed he could be the next J.J. Abrams. However, as it became apparent that he couldn't cope with the movie, it was simply to late to ditch him. "How do you ask someone to take over half of a movie shot by someone else? You either hire somebody desperate for work or you [start over], write off pretty much the whole budget and lose the cast." Fair point!
    • Those reshoots have been blamed for the poor quality of Fantastic Four, but the movie apparently didn't even have an ending when shooting concluded. Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker scrambled to come up with something, but the former's busy schedule and the fact that much of the cast was unavailable led to "a lot of material was shot with doubles and the production moved to Los Angeles to film scenes with Teller against a green screen. 'It was chaos,' says a crew member, adding that Trank was still in attendance 'but was neutralized by a committee.'"
    • Who was responsible for that terrible ending and second act? Fox reportedly put together a dream team to rescue the move, and that included Drew Goddard. Whatever he and the rest of that team did obviously failed horribly!

I would rather a documentary about the making of the F4 reboot than watch the real movie

This is stuff you can't make up even if you tried.

  4. Fox is trying to get the TV rights of the X-Men from Marvel.

I think Marvel should ask for the F4 film rights and fair use of the X-Men franchise in exchange for the TV rights or no deal.

    ^^

Been suggesting something similar. Marvel allows FOX to add the "and live-action TV rights" to their X-Men contract. FOX agrees to a mutual termination of the FF rights contract. This gives Marvel back not only the FF, but Galactus, Doom, Surfer, Kang, Immortus, Anhilus and a few other big cosmic & ancient-being type characters. And a good number of the cool baddies. Not to mention, it also cleans up any potential lawsuits or gray area when it comes to the use of the Skrulls/Super-Skrull.

That seems like a lot for Fox to give up. Doesn't sound realistic.

As the FF rights (at least for FOX) have been a losing proposition for FOX 2/3 of the time they've made use of them, and an X-Men tie-in TV show would at least make them some money, it might not be the worst deal for FOX. They could look at it as trading a property that has been a general loser for an opportunity to expand a generally winning property to other platforms that aren't accessible now.

Marvel has the chance to play hardball again. Marvel won't lose anything if they stand pat or take a hardline negotiating position & strike out. If they ask for the FF contract to be terminated, the worst that happens is they hear "no" and respond with something along the lines of "ok, enjoy losing money on FF movies you keep screwing up while also not having an X-related TV show on the air. We're going to go mine our E-list for our next $500M movie. But if you decide that you want a money-making X-tv show & want to stop losing money because you don't know what you're doing with the FF, give us a call." They did it with DD and made out like a bandit. FOX only offered Galactus or the Surfer. Marvel said "both or you lose DD". FOX wouldn't give both so Marvel took DD, parlayed it into a big piece of their NETFLIX contract & the rest is future history. Marvel will likely do the exact same thing again. Use their leverage (the tv rights) into getting something big that they want. And if they fail, they don't lose anything.

    Exactly :applause:

  5. Why do I have a feeling I know exactly what the fans will say?

Fox Asking Fans What To Do With 'Fantastic Four' Franchise

    http://peeltheorange.net/fox-asking-fans-what-to-do-with-fantastic-four-franchise/

    Yeah,make a DREDD 2 :insane:

I mean sell the film rights back to Marvel :sumo:

Dredd 2 would be awesome if the same creative team were somehow still involved too.

I did a House of Corrections interview and I swear they wanted guards like Karl Urban's character. Here I am on Facebook taking care of baby raccoons. I didn't stand a chance to look tough after a quick background check. lol

"Sorry Jerel, you're way too nice"

Karl Urban is my hero. It must have been such a hard balance for that character to not look like a complete jerk on screen. But there he was, evolving his character arc (with subtle body movement) under a helmet during the whole movie!

I know it bombed with the power of a thousand suns,:pullhair: BuuuuuT! It makes my heart grow 3 times it's size to know DREDD kicked the F4's among both critics and audiences.

    Just look at the differance.

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/dredd/

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/fantastic_four_2015/

The difference is the makers of DREDD stayed true to the comics, where as the makers of the FF reboot didn't even let the actors read any FF books for reference.

  6. The 13th Warrior is just an amazing film.

I usually don't like deconstructed myths, but this one is so well done, as is the novel by Crichton.

I need to see this now. hm

Nope you need to see the Fantastic Four (2015) first instead of continually bashing on a film you have never seen.

You gonna pay for my ticket? :baiting:

I will....if you go see it and totally hate it, I will PayPal you $10 to offset your ticket. That's how much I believe that this movie doesn't suck. I'm not even an FF guy.

    Jim

    :o

    Do it big brother.

    :baiting:

Oh don't worry,I'm going with him if he goes see it.

I can't leave him to watch it by himself lol

  8. So, opening weekend predictions?

I say it has an opening weekend between 24-36 million. With a 40 to 60 percent drop off the next week.

I say $40-45 million opening weekend.

    + 1

BOO-YAH! Looks like I was spot on with my prediction! :acclaim:

I underestimated the god awful reviews the film is getting from fans and critics.

  9. I really like Tatum, and it seems like he knows how to play the Hollywood game well. Good on him (thumbs u

'The Eagle' definitely proved to me he could act in a leading role. I'm on board!

He looks like Gambit to me (Flame Shield up)

Don't worry Sarah, I agree, and I don't understand those who say he looks nothing like the character.

    lol (thumbs u

By the way, we need to find a game that we both play on the PS3 so we can game together sometime. I know you're not a Call of Duty girl, but we've gotta play something!

    Got Dead Space 3?

I'm a fan of the Battlefield series.

  10. Holy !!!

I knew it would get bad reviews, but not Catwoman bad

I wanted to give it chance, but they made too many changes to the origin story that I don't even consider it a FF movie.

It's neither the 616 or the Ultimate Universe version, but Fox's Universe.

I think me & Mr 9.8 are going to see Shaun the Sheep instead :ohnoez:
