Actually here's a more important question. Would you rather have a 9.4 or a 9.8 that was pressed? And lets be honest here, even if you were told it used to be a 9.4 do you really think you could find the spot where the paper was unbent? Keep in mind we are talking about bends...on paper! Pressing is simply bending paper forwards because it was bent backwards a little too far years or decades ago. Using artifical means to unbend paper as opposed to sticking the book under a 10 lbs dictionary for a decade to let "nature" do it is not restoration! Timely

I cannot agree with this statement, it's too general. Putting a book in a mylar is a "process that improves the appearance of the book." I know this sounds stupid...but it does qualify. It's not a good definition to me. Your question about having two 9.4 books in front of you, one pressed and one not pressed, is a loaded question. First of all, if I was told which one was pressed and which was not I'd pick the unpressed one, and so would everyone else on the planet...all other things being equal. Why? Because for all I know the unpressed 9.4 could turn into a pressed 9.8! The pressed 9.4 could have been a 9.2 down to a 7.0 and will never be any better. The real question you should ask yourself is...If you have two 9.4 books that are equal in every way except one is pressed and one is not...can you tell the difference? Timely

I already thought of that. I was going to do the Young Allies run that way but the later numbers were still in the safety deposit boxes. I'm going to do the Sub-mariner run in desending order too! That run is next. Timely -

Don't forget to give me a 5 star thread rating! Not too many have rated it yet. Timely -
Scotch tape is not considered restoration either, in my mind it's ameteur restoration...of the worse kind. However, the reason CGC does not consiser it restoration goes back to comic history and acceptability. Until about 1975 the only way anyone repaired a book was with scotch tape. Some "pros" of the day dabbled with elmer's glue, but 99% of it was tape repairs. Most collectors in the 70's and 80's had no choice but to accept the fact that long ago when a tear was made someone was there with a roll of tape to mend it. They were not really trying to restore the book, they just wanted the to make sure the rip did not get any longer. I do not care for tape and would prefer a properly done tear seal, of course that is defined as restoration. These are tough subjects to deal with in the collecting community, no doubt! Timely

That's been one of my favorite covers since I got Gerber and saw it in there. It does look nice, possibly the nicest Larson I've ever seen. Want to sell it. 2 on your ask list are not on the Larson list. Do you have those and suspect them to be Larsons? Timely

Here are the grades given, keep in mind all these grades should be lowered a full notch or more, meaning a NM on the list is a VF by today's standard. Where can one find this "original Larson list"??? I'm very curious about some of my books that I think might be Larsons but I'm not sure. The Larson list is too long to print, but if you have specific books I'd be happy to look them up for you. Timely

Well, it's listed as a NM with a "gentle spine roll" on the original Larson List. I'd suspect CGC would give it an 8.0, plus or minus a grade. Timely
