Those are some tough books, I love 5 and 7.

Just back from CGC. This book has a small water stain on the top and bottom of the spine visible only on the back cover. The front cover, on the other hand, well...it's magnificent!

I gotta differ with you on this one, Ronaldo. I think the Burnley Starman covers are some of the most underrated GA covers around. They're great stuff, pure Golden Age.

I've always loved this cover, Schomburg or not. One of my few Crowleys...

Picked this one up from Verzyl in Chicago last summer. I'm just a sucker for Chicago Timelys ( to anyone that have any available)...

For just a VF #5?  It's not like a 9.4 Mile High book? (I know it's gorgeous and all, but is MM 5 a key? 

No, it's not the Church copy nor is it a 9.4.  But it is the Chicago copy of one of the most desirable issues in the entire run and one of Schomburg's most classic covers.  It's also scarcer than a hen's tooth. 

Congrats, Richard!  That book is beautiful... what a trophy.

BTW, Which would you choose....

First S&K Vision. About $3000 by guide but very undergraded.

or....

First Cap in USA. Also about $3000 by guide.

Tough choice. But I will opt for the USA #6. That is just a very very tough book to come by, especially in grade. And I just love that torture device Schomburg's got going. That MMC 13, though, definitely has the eye appeal. What brought the grade down?

Very nice set of books, Slacker. I especially like this one.

What was the grade on this book?

8.5, one grader gave it a 9.0. But it was one of those books that got whacked for a couple of non-color breaking corner creases. I guarantee it could be pressed into a 9.2 or, who knows, maybe more. Ask me if I would ever do that. (apologies for using the "P" word in the GA section)

I was going to post this in the "Confessions of a Crack Addict" thread, but figured Timely geeks would get more utils out of this than just a good ol' fashioned crackhead.

It was an absolute joy going through this book the other night after I freed it from its synthetic coffin to breathe a little. (Sorry Alan, I just couldn't wait.) It was like sipping a nice glass of scotch. Enjoy!:

New Timelys just back from CGC. To say I am happy is very much an understatement....

Got this book many moons ago from sacentaur. The Schomburg cover is awesome!
