  1. For just a VF #5?  It's not like a 9.4 Mile High book? (I know it's gorgeous and all, but is MM 5 a key?

No, it's not the Church copy nor is it a 9.4.  But it is the Chicago copy of one of the most desirable issues in the entire run and one of Schomburg's most classic covers.  It's also scarcer than a hen's tooth.

Congrats, Richard!  That book is beautiful... what a trophy. (worship)

  2. BTW, Which would you choose....

    mm13.jpg

First S&K Vision. About $3000 by guide but very undergraded.

    or....

First Cap in USA. Also about $3000 by guide.

    I know my answer!

Tough choice. But I will opt for the USA #6. That is just a very very tough book to come by, especially in grade. And I just love that torture device Schomburg's got going. That MMC 13, though, definitely has the eye appeal. What brought the grade down?

  3. I was going to post this in the "Confessions of a Crack Addict" thread, but figured Timely geeks would get more utils out of this than just a good ol' fashioned crackhead. :baiting:

It was an absolute joy going through this book the other night after I freed it from its synthetic coffin to breathe a little. (Sorry Alan, I just couldn't wait.) It was like sipping a nice glass of scotch. Enjoy!:

If you've never seen it, this is what the Olshevsky/Chicago code looks like. It is usually about a third of the way in, on the inside margin:

I thought this was a really cool visual when I was flipping through this book:
