Looks like they didn't learn the lesson.

I'm sure these aren't going to be main characters, and might only appear very briefly, akin to how Aquaman/Cyborg/Flash "appeared" in Batman vs. Superman.  But that kind of character "seeding" (look, it's an expanded universe!) just isn't effective.  We, the audience, are over it.

They really need to focus on the story at hand, and not try to amaze us with the whole expanded universe thing they are trying to create right out of the gate.

Like, if they think this announcement is supposed to get people excited about their movie, it suggests they still have no clue what an audience actually wants.

Which is sad, because I think Gunn usually does know what an audience wants, at least most of the time.   But he's certainly not perfect.

Maybe he can still pull it off.  I do hope so.

Gunn is probably the best person for the job

With the exception of Guardians of the Galaxy 3, haven't all comic book movies flopped this year? We still have The Marvels and Aquaman 2, but I doubt either will do any better.

Considering the biggest money makers this year are Barbie and Super Mario Bros, it can be taken that general audiences are moving away from super heroes.

Maybe it's the quality of the movies, maybe it's super hero fatigue, but I don't know what (if anything) will turn this around.

Hero fatigue for sure. Probably Gunn's Superman will bring it back

ComicArtTracker is a website dedicated to helping collectors find and track comic art for sale from more than 360 dealers, auction houses, marketplaces and artists websites all over the world. Instead of having to check all these websites manually, you just have to check one. Plus you can define a list of keywords and receive daily notifications by email when new listings match one of these keywords.

    Awesome! I'll check it out

@Get Marwood & I already posted a video about it, but what age of comics are we talking about?

Before 1976, I believe only a Whitman logo could identify a direct edition (non-returnable) comic book. All other comics would have been newsstand, with or without a barcode. The is no need to identify "newsstand" on books that only had one method of distribution (only one edition/version).

I was just speaking generally by looking at comics across different ages and noticing a difference
