  1. Zzutak - I totally understand what you're saying re: "confidence in the seller" - BUT how much would Heritage Auction's keep? I checked their website and couldn't exactly determine what their percentage is, plus the cost of preparation (grading, cleaning, pressing, etc.) Per Overstreet: at 4.0 = $15,600 and at 6.0 = $31,200. The general consensus puts mine about a 5.0 = $23,400. Like I said - I'm new to this - but I have done a fair amount of research (Overstreet, E-bay, other comic book sites, local comic book dealers) and now I'm almost thinking that with the time and costs involved in consigning to Heritage - I might be better off just selling it raw to someone local since I live in Seattle (ie: large metropolitan city) and let them deal with it...? Pros / cons to this idea? Thanks again - I appreciate everyone's honest, experienced feedback!
  2. Hi – I just joined and I’m hoping to glean some wisdom from the group! Last year, I inherited 300+ golden & silver era comics of various genres (western, sci-fi, superhero, war, horror, satire, MAD, etc.) This is the “pick of the litter”. [PS: I included the “ransom” pic (lol) with the local newspaper to give me some credibility since I’m a new member.] I am planning to have it graded and slabbed before I sell it, but I need a heads-up on what it might cost for grading - and how much to insure it for - since I know the value could (hopefully!) be up there. Also, if I paid for Pressing – will it fix or help the spun spine? Feel free to ask me if you need more info or whatever… Thanks!
