  1. to pay 23900 for a 8.0 that looks like an avg 8.0 one would "assume" they might have had some pressing thoughts about it ? Still very nice even if no possible potential. with multiple sales in the 17K range, almost 24K is not comparable to me Do you feel this copy has potential? The slight rusted staples is a somewhat turn-off, but great copy overall. This is a great HG book to own, even witht the slight rust and toning on the front cover. I was poised and ready to bid but it jumped from 14k to 20k in a nanosecond. And then the bidding STOPPED. Congrats to the winner! I thought you won it Brannon. Congrats to the winner.

I say please don't.
  3. Quite impressive. It sure makes the other SC4 6.0 that sold on Ebay overpriced. I'm glad you brought that up. I completely forgot about that book. Dec-02-2010 $9,995 Cert# 0635098001 according to GPA. The 7.5 came to market right after it, and stole the spotlight. I read back and we were all pretty leery of that particular copy and the price. But yes, in comparison (and with the pedigree bump in value) the one that sold yesterday was a much better price, even with the "juice". Timing just sucked for me . . . again. I would have love to see you score it, but there will always be another.

  6. A Showcase 22 8.0 already had a FMV around $20K plus or minus. So it did better and received a pedigree premium boost. Time will tell, if prices have reach a plateau or still more increases. I think it's healthy to see the book not ending in the high 20's. Now when is the next SC4 8.0+ up for sale.
  7. Well, I know someone who's got an undercopy #11 he'll part with The strange things is #11 is one of the harder to find #'s but I found 2 in the span of a few months (hence the 6.0 undercopy). Unfortunately, neither was the "D" copy specimen. That copy was last traded as a slabbed 8.0 OW I believe. I would kill to find that one, even though the one I have now is higher. That's great you locked it in. The "D" is awesome and especially that Tec 31 "D" copy.
  8. I respect your opinions. Grading to the precise in any given day is not 100% 7.5..8.0.
  9. to pay 23900 for a 8.0 that looks like an avg 8.0 one would "assume" they might have had some pressing thoughts about it ? I just did not like the asthetics of the front cover (light transfer staining) in the blue grays. And some minute rusting of the staples. But, it IS a rare 8.0, (thumbs u We all think a like sometimes.
  10. From what I saw a press wouldn't help the book. There was color breaking wear at the top edge as well as a decent crease through GL's lower foot that keeps the grade down. I got the feeling that someone just wanted a reasonably nice copy of this book. Same here. I felt the foot was the biggest flaw and the slight rusted staples was also a negative.

  16. very nice Very nice. Never own a GA Wonder Woman, but hope to one day.
  17. Wow, there is already ten low ball offers. 13 last time I checked When will it sell.
  18. It's a steal. Here's why...this is what the individual wraps sold for: Action 1 5th wrap $6353 Action 1 6th wrap $3010 Action 1 13th wrap $1300 Action 1 14th wrap $890 Action 1 15th wrap $850 Also a 1st wrap sold for $3100 several years ago...pretty sure it would sell for much more. That's $15,000 for less than 1/2 the interior with 10 (or 11 wraps) still to be accounted for. Then you have the cover, which would easily be a 5 figure piece. There are several incomplete copies of Action #1 out there and if someone with an interior were to purchase this copy you basically have a $90,000+ plus book by adding one centerfold. Thats convincing figures you are pulling, - that is *if* its legit to calculate complete-copy-value by adding FMV for each wrap? But thats the problem isnt it? That for the big ticket books value is not easy to determine? So nobody can be blamed for trying to calculate what is cheap or steep. There was an Ext 4.5 Tec27 that sold out of metro a year ago in the mid 30K range. The UK Ext. 4.5 sold recenly for close to 50K. An Action #1 I guess is even more incalculable when it comes to determine FMV at a given moment in time ... Well, considering FMV entry level price for a complete Action #1 is going to run you approx $100K (remember, even a ratty copy that is restored to EP is a $100K book) and the wraps have never sold for more than $6K, I just can't call it anything less than a bargain. Remember, all you need is one wrap to transform this book into a complete copy. Action 1 bargain and Action 13 bargain= buying opportunity.
  19. Eye appeal aside ( huge factor in pricing lower grade) Fr-2k Gd-4-5k Gd/vg-7500 vg-8-10k For purple label right? A bit cheap for blue label. Or your buying price. blue label "if" any were to show up...a fr ish copy (closer to poor than fair from an eye appeal standpoint) very recently sold for $1300 or so...and yes, it has been 2 years ago, but action 10 was still action 10 then, a cgc 5.5 went for 17,500, so maybe today it is 20K...this is not action 13 we are talking about, but action 10 (thumbs u Understand. (thumbs u Those are reasonable prices to pay. From those A10 prices, A13 is like 2.5 to 3.0 times the value of A10. I believe 13 is 2x rarer...(remember, all are "assumptions") a fr at 4K is reasonable a gd at 10K is "reasonable" a 3.0 at 15K is reasonable (a 3.0 sold for less at SDCC last year) a 4.0 at 20K is "reasonable"... so, I would say 2x (thumbs u That is a more realistic FMV and given volatile prices in term of the supply and demand in the short term.
