  1. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #11 - DOC OCK RETURNS! All! Just upgraded so this one needs a new home. 1st in thread trumps any ongoing PM conversations. PayPal only please and payment is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made. No returns on CGC graded books. No PROBATES or HOSERS ARE ALLOWED TO BUY! Shipping is included in the price and continental USA only at this time. Bought it slabbed so no knowledge of pressing being done.
  2. I'm of the opinion at least when it comes to big books the CVA sticker will mean a better price realized for the book at the big house auction sites. Will it be significant? What percentage more will be paid for a book with this verification? Will it continue to hold it's higher value over time? Will CVA be relevant in 5 years? These are questions I don't have an answers for....
  3. Apparently it means it has exceptional eye appeal for the assigned grade, but I don't get it either.
  4. I always liked this explanation of Kirby vs. Ditko pencils on ASM: "Lee and Kirby "immediately sat down for a story conference" and Lee afterward directed Kirby to flesh out the character and draw some pages. "A day or two later", Kirby showed Lee the first six pages, and, as Lee recalled, "I hated the way he was doing it. Not that he did it badly — it just wasn't the character I wanted; it was too heroic". Lee turned to Ditko, who developed a visual motif Lee found satisfactory,[21] although Lee would later replace Ditko's original cover with one penciled by Kirby. Ditko said, "The Spider-Man pages Stan showed me were nothing like the (eventually) published character. In fact, the only drawings of Spider-Man were on the splash [i.e., page 1] and at the end [where] Kirby had the guy leaping at you with a web gun... Anyway, the first five pages took place in the home, and the kid finds a ring and turns into Spider-Man." Ditko also recalled that, "One of the first things I did was to work up a costume. A vital, visual part of the character. I had to know how he looked ... before I did any breakdowns. For example: A clinging power so he wouldn't have hard shoes or boots, a hidden wrist-shooter versus a web gun and holster, etc. ... I wasn't sure Stan would like the idea of covering the character's face but I did it because it hid an obviously boyish face. It would also add mystery to the character...."
  5. Congrats! It's a great looking copy with no MC! I'd like to upgrade as well but financially not a good time for me.
  6. Silver age I know, hope it's ok to post here. Probably a long shot but looking for the cover to Our Army At War #83. Would like both the back and front cover attached but will entertain just the front if you have it. PM me if you would prefer. Thanks!
  7. 1.0 looks about right to me IMHO! cover still has nice bright colors.
  8. Not to keep hijacking your sales thread but is the shipping cost worldwide or just the continental US?
  9. Hi, welcome to the boards. To be in compliant with board rules for selling you need to post how payment is expected(paypal, money order, etc.) and if shipping is included or what shipping cost will be.
