I've never encountered books that were stapled shut. Has anyone?
I bought my original copy of Avengers #196 from an old drugstore that used to staple comics. The book is in NM condition with four staple holes in the front cover. Don't have a clue how to grade it.
-
The "pinholes" at the bottom are production-related, so they aren't usually penalized by graders. The only major flaw is the small crease on bottom right of the front cover. That would make it a 9.0 at best and is probably a sweet 8.5.

If this is the end for the show, it sure looks like they are trying to go out with a bang with all the former characters present.

I was only 9 when ASM #s 121-122 came out. Even though I really didn't have much of a clue about adult relationships at that time, it still hit me pretty hard. This was Spider-Man's girlfriend! And there wasn't anything he could do about it. The scenes where he was talking to her on the docks after she died were heart-wrenching. Gil Kane and John Romita did a great job of portraying that.

No. 69 is also noteworthy as the first appearance of the Taskmaster, who I believe is rumored to be a villain in the next Thor movie. For some reason it hasn't trended upward like other first-appearance books with alleged movie villains.

TT had an awesome bunch of $2 books at Heroes last weekend. Saw a Teen Titans #2 reader copy in the pile.

What's really surprised me, is I'm really starting to like Cat Grant. She's one of my favorite characters. I couldn't stand her in the beginning...but last night
the
"She's my protege", and calling her Kara at the end
, just solidified it for me. She's really good. I used to look forward to the Blacklist and Grimm, maybe some guilty watching of Nashville, but this is absolutely my favorite show.
Calista Flockhart totally killed it in the Flash crossover! She's one of the main reasons to watch! And the writers aren't afraid to take shots at pop culture and even Calista herself with the Harrison Ford bit.
I really hope CBS is smart enough to renew it.

Trying to complete the November 1971 Marvel 25-centers. My Love #14 may be one of the hardest Bronze books to find.

An excellent episode. This show has grown on me during the season.
For a more comprehensive adaptation of the Alan Moore story, Bruce Timm did a good version of it in a Justice League Unlimited episode.

Bought a couple of books from Alex. They were graded correctly and he gave me a good deal. He shipped promptly and books arrived secure and safe. Would do business with him again in a heartbeat.
Thanks!

Have been an Ant-Man fan since Avengers #93. Just saw the movie and thought it was really good!
I can't really find much fault with it. The acting and the choice of actors worked.
The Ant-Man premise is very difficult to convey in comics, let alone in a movie, but I thought they did as good of a job as they could with the subject matter.
When I first heard that Hank Pym was going to be old, I was skeptical, but it worked. And there's a lot more story to tell!
Overall, a very enjoyable movie. (thumbs u (thumbs u

Yeah, I watched Batman: Gotham Knight 10 years ago and cannot remember it whatsoever, Mask of Phantasm either. Since last year, I have been slowly catching up with the ones I haven't seen yet, but I plan to revisit the others. You have me intrigued with Subzero now and Under The Hood will be next too. (thumbs uI'm not seeing "Batman: Gotham Knight" anywhere on your list. The collected anime shorts? A couple of those stories are really good.Anyway, your list seems spot on with the exception of 'All-Star' at #3. It's a great interpretation of the books, but as a movie it felt a bit too disjointed imho. Where one "issue" ended and another began, the story-flow felt forced and whacky. Still a good one though. (thumbs u
And if you get a chance to see the older 'Batman: SubZero' it might make your list. It's mainly a Batgirl story and very well done.
Don't forget Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. It's the best Batman movie of any kind ever, in my opinion.

Can't believe you're selling this, Barton! I have been hoarding copies of this for the past couple of years and I've never seen one this awesome.
