So did you guys see the TMNT Adventures #1 9.8 SS by Kevin Eastman that went for a whopping $140.51 on eBay!?! The comic is worth a fraction of that. I couldn't believe it. I thought for sure that I'd be able to win this for around 50 to 75 dollars--maximum. Turns out I was dead wrong. Congrats to the seller. This is the first time that I have seen a signature drastically, and clearly, increase the value of a comic book. Did you buy this, Peter Palmer?

Got some images from the amazing Anthony Castrillo. I commissioned him to make me a cover recreation of the great #1, on one of those useful Marvel blank covers. I am thrilled...I am blown away! Here are the images. Neat!

Who was the seller? Bijoubaby05 There was a pretty lengthy discussion about the seller not too long ago, so when I saw the seller id, I lost interest altogether. This particular auction didn't look suspicious, but I try not to support some of the shadier ebay sellers presented here on the boards. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4755952&fpart=1 I had no idea that you all actually knew who that TMNT #1 belonged to! And that he's a thief. That answers my previous question as to why it got so little bids.

I suppose so. It's infuriating though the disparity between the blue and green label 9.6's on there though. To be honest, I'm not so sure why I'm so "touched" by this either. But I am disgruntled for all 1st print owners. I am very interested to see how this will turn out.

Anyone know why the "qualified" TMNT #1 on the Pedigree auction is getting no love? I'm serious; is the color green that offensive to prospective owners? It's clearly signed, at least in the interior, by Eastman and Laird. Collectors can be so frustrating sometimes. This is so silly..I mean stupid. Full disclosure: I do NOT own this copy.

Great deals for TMNT #1 are possible. Two years ago I got my 8.0 copy, signed by Eastman & Laird on the interior cover, (with white pages no less!) for a flat $800. It was a BIN and was only uploaded for several hours before I snagged. It was two days before Thanksgiving so maybe that's why it flew under the radar.

They sure are! Thanks for sharing. Can you see the indent of the signatures in the silver paper? I love stuff like that, the actual pressing of the pen to the paper. How do you plan on preserving/showcasing them? I am currently going over options for the Gold proof; I'm curious to see what you think or advise.
