  1. I read you have no plans to sell them, but from a resale standpoint I would without a doubt slab them. If you don't they will never get a sig. series label, and if you do end up slabbing them the future owner( should that happen!) can take it out of the slab if he/she wishes. Hero books sold raw never come close to getting what their slabbed counterparts bring in.
  2. I agree with your assessment of Michonne. I really liked her before the show, but I think the show is slowly getting her where she belongs.
  3. Sadly, yes it is. I don't like the thick cases, my Ba is in the thin case...
  4. I really thought I overpaid for this. Pretty stoked in all honesty!
  5. Struck out again! Looks like the latest 3K book is up! Eastman
  6. Yeah, nice of him to donate a portion of the sale back to Hero Initiative while sliding that book right in the midst of the other auctions this week
  7. Thanks I love what Matt did with it, he was laughing as he was finishing it, I especially like the "Hulk head feel funny!"
  8. Hope this is okay to post here! I have twin girls, so getting the Perrier twins and my favorite the Hulk together just seemed like the right thing to do! Loved meeting Matt In Denver, also was able to pick up a few original pages!
  9. In my experience Hero will offer the book to the next highest bidder in the case of a no pay. The fact that they are a tax write off always pushes the initial bids higher. If/When they do come back up for sale from the winning bidders they almost always go lower. I can say I do hope the winners are opting for CGC grading. As far as resale goes it's a no brainer, although I'm one of those collectors that operates on the "once it goes into my collection, it never comes out!" At least until my kids are ready for college Ya, I feel the same way, I wanted to get a couple to re-sell, but I've never re-sold anyting... They just stay in their boxes.... So you can write these off in your taxes? Also, what do you mean they go for lower once they are put up for sale? p.s. What kind of bike do you ride Troy? I got a 03 Road King on 21/18" rims, True duels, bout to put the 95 kit in it and give it gear2gear... I went a round with my tax advisor on these since I am the resident hero Initiative crack addict. I agree with everything that has been said re: the charitable contribution nature of these. The fact that I don't resell mine, and I don't ever claim the full amount I should be okay, I feel the problem would come if you do claim these on your taxes and then resell them, even at a loss, you may be putting yourself in harms' way. The fact that they are one of a kind and a "market value" is almost impossible, plus the fact that the covers and time for the artwork donated by the artist(s) themselves were donated, they have no actual value vs. say a automobile/gift basket. Definitely a grey area.
  10. So you got the Lashley I bid on it but got outbid last second Although it did result in me getting the one that I wanted even more... the Tony Parker even if I did pay $350 more for it Actually it's kinda funny, I bid $750, that was out bid and I clicked that "one click bid button" and BAM $910 and I'm the winner. I really had no intention of going higher than $750. Was kinda bummed at the time, but overall I'm feeling pretty lucky!

  12. I think most people are afraid of "tipping their hand" I was hoping to get the Texeira from the start of the WD 100 announcement, but I am officially out of the running at this point
  13. Congrats! That one was high on my wish list but far exceeded my "budget"
  14. It's positively out of control.....well over two thousand now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DALE-KEOWN-Hero-Initiative-Walking-Dead-100-ORIGINAL-cover-/300921270613?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item46104e3155
