  1. I think it works excellently both ways. This is a wierd comparison, but I think its a little like the Quiet Man. It was marvelous in black and white originally, and there's a strong audience for that, but then when it was recolored, there was a great number of people who thought the recoloring added a lot to it. Either way, though, I think the Black and White encourages more imagination with it, like Herobear and the Kid, where as the color makes everything seem vibrant.
  2. It's fascinating how the color issue affects some people. I know plenty of people who refuse to pick up Showcases or Essentials despite the GIl Kane or Steve Ditko art because of it. Kids seem to usually avoid them. That being said, its a complete non-issue with Bone. Kids love it anyway, and for the most part, adults don't care either. I think it shows Smith's storytelling prowess.
  3. The book's been fantastic. The fan letters they get are interesting because during the early 50's, they complained that nothing was happening. Then in the late 50's, they complained the book was getting too dark. I don't know that they're a good indicator. And the way they beat the "Eve's going to die" drum, you kind of knew something was up.
  4. Has anybody seen a copy of Rhymes with Lust? I'm curious to see grades, prices, etc. I've never seen one, but I'd love to. Has it been reprinted at all yet?
  5. I didn't read the entire thread. I didn't take any offense.
  6. Sorry, docgo, didn't see it. I was just curious because I've never seen one. I was wondering how the grades and pricing for those came out honestly.
  7. Anybody seen the Thorn precursor book from when Smith was in college?
