  1. Thanks Charlie! It was definitely a work of love tracking down all these books in 9.8, and especially the Dark Horse Presents books that had some horrible paper quality. QFT. I looked at a half dozen of each of the Hellboy DHPs two weekends ago from a typically very good warehouse-type source of books. They all were wrecked. On a better note, my DHP 29 is coming back 9.8.
  2. I absolutely believe this to be true.
  3. Yes sir. I feel your pain. When i found out i missed Harvey Pekar at one of the NY cons last year, it felt like a groin punch.
  4. That submission is completely off the chain. I can't wait to see my JTHM #1.
  5. No, not really . Sorry, J, but still. If you have trouble flying, get to your seat ASAP and try to make yourself go to sleep. If nothing else, you will be much calmer and sometimes you will be able to get to sleep.
  6. There were at least 10 copies at Gem City Con today. I didn't look at them all, but the nicest that I did look at was one of Motor City's copies. 8.0-8.5.
  7. Andy always makes me feel mean-spirited, but it is because he is genuinely one of the kindest people on the Boards. I'll still tell him to eat me when he deserves it, though. Even though pc1009 got on, he brought it upon himself. His posts were like the first assignment of an English as a twelfth language class, he was all over the road, and he didn't have any pictures or scans for a long time. And he had a Roy PM thread telling him how special and valued he was. The Boardies could have been much better about it, but it smacks of sticking your hand in a wasp's nest and complaining that you got stung.
  8. It was an unbelievable train wreck. But it was way worse in the guy's ASM 129 thread than it was in the selling thread, at least the part that I saw.
  9. I'll try and hit some in the next couple of hours and the rest early evening. Lineup: Western Gunfighters, SVTU, Where Creatures Roam, Crazy, Crypt of Shadows, Inhumans, Marvel Spectacular, Chamber of Chills, Night Rider, Scooby Doo, Laff-a-lympics, Monsters on the Prowl 9, Dynomutt, Champions, Warlock, GS Defenders.
  10. I will be putting up a sales thread in the BA/SA/GA section with 12 or 15 Bronze Age Marvel high grade #1s. All 9.4 or better, most White pagers for those that covet them. Horror, westerns, Hanna-Barbera titles, some Superhero. After I post these I also take requests if anyone is looking for anything else. More of the digital pictures you hate to see and love to mock.

    Uh-oh...

What's great about it, too, is that it played out exactly the way it needed to for maximum hilarity. They were dogging that book for bad QP and somebody alerted TB. OldGuy and JC jumped on the "newb" and just happened to hit him with the "put your money where your mouth is" material. Talk about a red cape in front of a bull. You couldn't have scripted it any better. Gene's post is my favorite, though, even though he backed off of it a little bit.

    Uh-oh...

That thread is chock full of win, with contributions from some of the funniest, smartest and most notorious boardies, plus a whole bunch of greggy-bashing.

    What do you own, sonny?
  14. Sharpest, best centered, richest inked copy of that book I've ever seen. Wow. One of my favorite Bronze #1s
  15. Just a bunch of stuff that has accumulated over the past few years. And desperation. Desperation is a stinky cologne.
  16. I actually really, really liked that device. My interpretation was that it was intended to show that Rick was a compassionate person at heart, and also that he had not come to terms with the fact that these were zombies. He treated it as though it were a suffering person and put it out of its misery. It was intended, I think to be there to point to in the future, as the characters become increasingly far away from considering or remembering that the zombies were once humans. By issue 10 or 12, Rick would no sooner mercy kill a zombie than eat one.
