  1. Thanks I'll post some more tomorrow if anyone want's to see them.
  2. Don't think it is but I believe the Hopalong Cassidy are. Also have number 34 of HC. I hope I'm in the DMZ and don't get shot for putting these Westerns up here. Can you forgive me? Thank God Grandma put the year on these or else no one would know when they were published At least I put a True War up so I don't completely mess up the board.
  3. Great minds think alike? I had just pulled some of my 4c Duck Albums also. Rick
  4. Thanks for the warm welcome to the board. I don't have a lot of war comics but I really enjoy them. The Bill Battle one is great. The story inside is about the newly formed Comic Code. Bill show up and takes on the Censors As you can see he delay's the code until new Censors can be found. Hope you like these. The last one is G.I. Joe helping Bill Battle with the Censors.
  5. Everyone has lots of nice looking giant Duck books here. Here are a few more hope you like them, Merry Christmas.
  6. BB nice book, but no I don't have any of DD Fun Books. I also love the Christmas at Disneyland. They don't make them like that anymore. I do have Gene Autry Adventure Comic and Play fun book someplace. I took a quick look and couldn't find it, but I do have it cataloged. Cowboy's of course! Here's a Picnic Party And a Family Fun Hope you like this one. I have #5 but no 3 or 4.
  7. Funny thing about Grandma, she would pencil in the Year on the front of the comic, but would never let any of the kids/grandkids cut anything out. "That would destroy the books."
  8. Hope you like these, all ducks sorry no John Wayne. I really like the back covers, they are as good as the fronts. And of course my favorite. Got to go to Disneyland for the very first time last year. Have been to WDW many times so it was a great time seeing the first/original park.
  9. No sorry I don't have any of those Circus Pictures. I do have a several of the Dell Giant for the Ducks. I'll get one out and scan it in later.
  10. Well actually Toby press did a "John Wayne" comic from 49 - 55. I have one, number 30 of that series. I really didn't mean to mess up the Ducks with all this Duke stuff. Sorry.
  11. New to the boards here. Hope you like this one, a little Fantasy here - the Ghost gunner. Late GA early SA comic, I just love this cover.
  12. Scrooge Ha good luck with the John Wayne question. I'll bet 10% or less know who he is. And of that 10% most will say "that guy in the Green Beret movie". As I said that is one of my best ducks. I wish they were all that good. Here is one that thank God has the Date printed on the cover. Grandma loved putting the year in the white area of the comic (like the super duck one). Sometimes once wasn't enough, she had to do it 2 or maybe even 3 times ARRRG! But she was kind enough to stop that practice by the 1950's at least. Hope you like this one. One of the comics that's seen a lot of reading and weather. Rick
  13. Scrooge Mix of books? Ah I'm taking a guess - 500 Funny Animals, Blondie, Archie, etc. 400 or so Disney, 800 Western, and 200 - 300 Other stuff. It could be more weighted toward the "funnies" since I have never really counted. I know I have for Publishers - 1263 Dell's, 219 Gold Key, 141 Western (Gold Key/Whitman), 136 Archie MLJ, 109 Harvey, 69 Charlton, 51 Fawcett's and smaller lots of other GA and SA publishers. At least the kids now know who Daffy Duck, Uncle Scrooge, Donald and Mickey are. I ask my sons (25 and 23) about "Cowboys" and they only come up with Clint Eastwood, "and he's like really old" is the answer. They have no idea who John Wayne is let alone Red Ryder, Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy, Gabby Hayes, etc. Funny how generations change. Rick
  14. No Fawcett Gene Autry, only Dell. No Ghost Rider either. I do have lots of Fawcett Hopalong Cassidy, 3 Straight Arrow and 1 Durango Kid. Maybe we should start a Golden Age Western thread? But yes back to the ducks. I do love the Disney stuff. I'm a big Disney fan. This is about one of the best ducks I have. Hope you like it. Front and Back
  15. Scrooge, thanks. I'm not really a "collector". I used to buy and read comics when I was a younger (12 - 29). That was in the mid-70's thru about 1991/92 I think. I bought all Super Heroes stuff. Got married in 84 and met my Wife's Grandma. She was one of these people who had 2 houses full of junk, saved everything, packed full (walking paths) of stuff. But she had saved all my father-inlaws and uncle-inlaws comics. She didn't let them read Super heroes, "to violent" 90% of some 2000 books are westerns and cartoon characters. She had them all stored in open wooden crates. I bought a bunch of comic boxes and at least got them out of the elements in the attic. A few years later she tells me to take them since I like comics so much, I was still buying and saving them at the time. She passed away and I end up with all her's and mine. So as I said I stop collecting in the early 90's and they are all in my house until 3 years ago I decide to go through and catalog everything. I figure it's time to get rid of them since I believe most of the westerns are going to loose lots of value as the younger generation has no idea who these cowboys are (red ryder, dale evans, etc.) I no longer collect them and no one else in the family is a collector. So it took over 2 years of going through over 4400 comics. I did end up with some real jem's, but many are in tough shape. The comics range from the good, to bad, to ugly. So here are a few more Ducks for you. Hope you like the background. People always get a chuckle out of it. Some of the older ones and of course more odd (super) ducks.
  16. A couple of odd ducks. Actually silver/gold age but ducks you don't see that often.
