      My CGC Feedback Thread

  2. A list would be helpful..I cant keep track

This Exclusive signing deals at cons have totally ruined the SS community for me...if you set up a  one shot private signing off the Con floor no problem.  But if you are bobby the brain heenan and keep a exclusive stable of talent that is damaging to the overall world of SS.

The actions of some facilitators blows my mind... but hey its not a hobby/ love to most any more.  Not to mention some of the egos Facilitators have are even more insane... but when you break it down its still a sharpie on a funny book. For the noobs these facilitators are not creating miracles just throwing the most $ at talent to "lock them into the stable".

I have been around for 7 years and the landscape of SS has changed for the worst IMO.. CGC and a handful of facilitators that have been around longer then me are still keeping the true love of SS going while making $. Can not say the same for the newer blood.

  3. The book costs $5.

Slackjaw wants you to buy at least 4 @ $35 a piece.

    HAHAHAHAHA.....no thanks.

i love people who think that going to a con is free and everything should be sold at cost... :troll:

Well some people just like to help other collectors.

Those people also have plane tickets, hotel bills, food costs, $400 convention passes to pay for.....oh and they have a long list of friends who they are already getting stuff for at cost. lol

San Diego is , far and away, the most expensive convention to attend. Combine the sheer volume of exclusives (making transporting difficult ) to that and you've got a situation where people asking for exclusives should be looking to help out the guy picking up the exclusives as much as they are looking for help.

Bottom line, expecting exclusives from sdcc for the cost of the book alone lacks empathy and may indicate the friend who is getting you the books is a better friend to you than you are to him.

not to mention the off the wall UPS "handling" charges to ship

  4. I love Art Adams, but this reminds me of a Mad magazine cover

    Like this one.

I was thinking about this cover and in general all variant covers done by non-WD artist. I feel these artist really are in a tough spot. Moore and especially Adlard have burned the image of these characters we love into our brains. So when a different artist takes a crack at one of them it always seems a little "off".

    rantrant over

  5. Anyone else find is odd that there's not a con variant for SDCC?? Either that means it's going to be a cheap year for me or that there will be a random one for the retailer breakfast and it'll be ridiculously out of reach.

I tweeted Shawn asking if there would be a wave 9, in hopes of a WD variant, and he said "Wave 9 will be at SDCC. ;)"...

I'll settle this now. There is not a TWD comic variant at SDCC this year.
