  4. That's exactly what i was thinking, you should get yourself one of those tilt and swivel ones, much more comfy.
  5. That is some serious Marvel drek you have there , did you know that the FF #41 was coming back a 9.8? or did you get a surprise?

  10. Thats a awesome looking copy of MWOM #1, is it yours?
  11. I am fairly new here, but you seem to be the only American that views here on a regular basis, do you have UK roots?
  12. Are they the guys that ran multiple full page adds in comics during the `70's and `80's? I can remember their ads in comics international, i seem to remember something about merging or becoming qaulity comics, may be wrong though.
  13. Not trading anymore. He had a meltdown and disappeared from the scene owing people money and books. Others helped mitigate some of it by trying to sort it out. Vault was a UK based auction site that wasn't a focus for US collectors. It was therefore a good place to pick up keys. I bought a restored MP 8.0 Tec #31 for $5k when market was more $9k. I thought it had to be something like that, you dont just pack in after building a business up like he did, i did here murmurs that people did not get big money books back, i thought he would never do anything like that, just goes to show, you never can tell.
  14. I tried to get in touch for ages, but no joy, he just seemed to vanish. John had the knack of finding some top grade stuff.
  15. Some of the other blokes havn't heard of him, much to my surprise, He left a big gap in the UK comic scene.
  16. I just took it for granted that everyone on here would have heard of John, but he hasn't been heard of since 2003ish, he ran Vault comic auctions and was the best source for high grade books in the UK.
  17. Any kids? They don't need that college fund. Too late! my son is in his second year and my daughter hopes to go next year!!
  18. Hello Lads, I didn't get on again yesterday, sorry about that. Thanks for the pm advice on cgcing books. My collection is mainly high grade marvel bronze books, marvel magazines and treasuries. I used to have 1000's of siver age too but made the big mistake of selling them in 2000 through John Pires, ( who has since vanished off the face of the earth, anyone know what happened???) Got the bug again, and started searching the net and ebay for books, some good hits and alot of bad ones. Started buying cgc books, even though i could not see the point in them at first (a book you cant even read ) but the more bad buys i had made me turn to cgc books. I do not own a book from the modern era, i jumped ship when marvel started doing stupid things...well stupid in my opinion anyway, so now i just try and buy the nicest 70's books that i can, HG 60's just too expensive now. How about you guy's?
  19. Hello fellow UK collectors, as you can see i am new to these boards, and i was wondering how you guys go about cgcing your books and at what cost? I was toying with the idea of sending some off and would like a few tips.
  20. A couple of classic Kane covers and a nice Hulk 179.
