  1. Bought when I was a kid, this seems in flawless shape except for this color breaking spine tick. I guess pressing would fix the crease but not the color, but could you even press a raised cover like this?
  2. Like many, Jim Lee was my absolute favorite as a kid. I probably bought this issue in the early 90s at my LCS. Like the #266 I posted, it was a BIG purchase for an 11 or 12 yr old 😂. I'd also like to send this in for grading, I see a little mark on spine in the purple thing Colossus is holding up. One of the pics is zoomed on it. Also zoomed in is the lower right cover corner, it looks to have a tiny piece missing. 😭 Appreciate the comments though, this is all good fun!
  3. I remember that I bought this book from a small comic show in the local mall in the early 90s when I was 11 or 12, I think it was about $25 and a HUGE purchase for me at the time. 😂 Anyway it's been siting bagged with the rest of my mostly teenage collection. I'd like to send this in for grading. I see a couple spine ticks that break color on the cover. Let me know what you think, thanks!
  4. Say one thing about Lninefingers, say that he's an optimistic man. 😉✌️
  5. Appreciate the feedback everyone, I guess I'll update when I get it back. 😁👍
  6. As stated in my thread in Silver Age, this was also found among the 450ish books I found in storage unit in cardboard boxes, books all stacked up on top of each, unbagged. Thankfully I think this one was in the middle of one of the stacks. I'd really like to send this to be pressed, (should it be cleaned?) and graded. Again, new to all of this and excited this fell into my lap, this seems to be the "diamond in the rough" if you will. thanks in advance.
  7. New to this but to me it looks like the spine is rolled and the staples are facing upwards now, they aren't protruding or anything.
  8. There's about 450 books, so theoretically I could be asking $4500 for the entire lot? (expecting 20-30% I've spoken with a few buyers, some are suggesting that I group books together and sell them in lots, like all these DC Romance books as one eBay listing, or all of the Thors with the #165, 166, etc (PGM said it wasn't in such great shape) Some are waiting for a full inventory and price list, been working on that a bit at a time and I guess we'll go from there. Going to post ToD #10 in PGM soon.
  9. It was found in a storage unit, inside a large cardboard box among 450 other books, mostly Silver age, a lot in decent and good shape but nothing bagged. Check out my thread about it in Silver age. Thanks for the feedback. The book didn't feel brittle when I was paging through it carefully, but I probably won't be opening it up again after bagging.
  10. Just an update on some more small treasures, haha. I've also been posting on PGM, like people have said, trying to have fun with it.
  11. I'll take the bad news, THEN the good news please, 😁 Thanks!
  12. Thanks, I have a few more keys to post. Is there anything else that would be helpful to take pics of for future posts?
  13. Hi, I'm relatively new to all of this so bare with me. I've just been scanning older threads to get a idea of how this works. I recently came to acquire a good amount of mostly Silver books. Trying to sort through them to see values, and if anything is worth sending to be pressed, cleaned and graded. This Thor is one of books that stands out, value wise. I'll be posting more but I figure I have to start somewhere. 😁👍 Thanks!
  14. Yeah definitely haven't fun, kind of rekindling my love from the 90s collecting did as a kid I'm not expecting to pay off my mortgage, haha. This lot seems more like a lot of filler, and low to mid grade but decent stuff, more quantity than quality for sure. Bagged these Silver Surfers up today, #16 has some decent value. I'm going to post a few books to the PGM thread for sure.
  15. Most of this stuff isn't priced high, or above mid grade but damn it looks cool.
  16. Went through a bunch of Sgt Fury and his Howling Commandos. These covers look so good!
  17. Went through some fun stuff today. Bagged and boarded everything. Most are low to mid grade, a few DDs are mid-Fine Daredevil 51-76, 78 Incredible Hulk 107-109, 115-136, 139, 141 Inc Hulk Giant Size Special Ed. 3 Thor 129-137, 140, 143-148, 159, 161-171,190 Sgt Fury and His Howling Commandos 23, 24, 29, 31, 35-37, 39-41, 44-51, 53-55, 58-61, 63-70, 72, 73, 75, 77-79, 89 Sgt Fury Commandos Giant Size Spec Ed 5&6
  18. Wow, thanks for that incredibly detailed reply. Tons of great info. I'm trying to have fun with this, went through a big set of Chartlon, Dell, Gold Key books today, just scanning eBay completed sales.
  19. Thanks, yes a bit, I have some late 80s 90s Marvel stuff that I've had since I was a kid, bagged and boarded. Nothing crazy but 1st Gambit 1st Jim Lee, 1st Bishop etc. I've thought about sending those away to be graded for a few yrs. Or are you talking about just a general ballpark "eyeball" grading? Yeah I'd be completely new to that.
  20. Hi, I mostly do estate sales and storage cleanouts. I had a peak at this and knew it was special. DC, marvel, Gold Key, Dell, Chartlon. Nothing in bags unfortunately. Slowly going through it figuring out what's what. Kind of new to the comic buy/sell market game but not to selling things in general. Any suggestions on how to proceed are appreciated. Located in North NJ if anyone can't point me in the right direction.
