  1. It really wouldn't be that hard to keep up with public voting. If everyone keeps quoting a "yay" or "nay"... all different boardies will be recorded and a count could be easier to obtain. YAY YAY YAY YAY NAY NAY NAY NAY
  2. Well nobody wants to get burned...and I don't think Menace meant to burn anyone. Just a victim of a poorly executed op.
  3. Only one refund that I'm aware of and it's done. Apparently one open sketch opp and the books will be at CGC after the holidays. Good thing we saved the community from him. I just can't see putting this guy in the HOS if he has tried... and is continuing to try... to get the job done. I know a member who can call moderation and get things done in less than 24 hours... maybe we can have him instantly taken off. I have no idea what you're talking about and yet I'm very interested. Since he's in the HOS, he really doesn't have any reason to try to get anything done now. No refunds, no books, no anything. I know the guy didn't handle his business to the best of his abilities... but it appeared he was trying.

  5. Has Menace refunded everyone who wanted or needed a refund ?
  6. Let's throw Jesus Christ, Socrates, Nancy Drew... oh and Michael J. Fox on this list as well.
  7. Get sweet books... ...and a sweet Tonto run from the Golden Age here... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7261046&fpart=38 ...but don't forget all these Guardians of the Galaxy #1s here... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7261046&fpart=33 or these sweet glossy Subbys here... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7261046&fpart=25 ... and don't forget the Silver Age Thors listed around here... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7261046&fpart=19
  8. Butthurt my friend, compound butthurt. :: -slym you made yourself laugh? Slym is the new Speedy ?
  9. I made a quick count, but I think it's even less than 5% (7 out of 224). And as I mentioned earlier, some of the other books are borderline books like New Mutants #1-20. I wasn't the one hitting the button and I mean no particular offense here, but you have a ton of Copper books in your sales thread - far more than just 7. All the New Mutants books, Thor #344, Captain America Annual #8, Guardians of the Galaxy #1, ASM 289, ASM 296, Iron Man #282, ASM 245, ASM 256, ASM 261, ASM 263, ASM 268, UXM 244, etc, etc. Your thread is pretty much the perfect example of a Mixed Age thread  Below was the stats on Dale's thread as of 12/11... also far more than 7 books and far more than "5%". Why are the rules different concerning Ghost Town or others? Why couldn't his listings stay in thread he started them in? Shouldn't he be able to request they be put back? Looks bad
  10. The best was when the mod got confused and split Rupp's thread in half, and then had to join it back together without anyone noticing. Hint - it was noticed. Good lord that was a mess wasn't it And ALL that was in Mixed too
  11. I pm'd Arch and asked him what was up. I hated even doing that much. It seems so silly. Did Arch answer you GT ? I just PM'd him tonight. So not yet. I hope he's not working and enjoying a movie and a glass of wine. I PMd him about it on 12/9 and then Dena on 12/10. No answer from either one. That said, some seem to be able to get ahold of them immediately... while some can't.

  13. I made a quick count, but I think it's even less than 5% (7 out of 224). And as I mentioned earlier, some of the other books are borderline books like New Mutants #1-20. I think yours would be around 3 % of the total books in your thread. Way below 5%.
  14. Well no, because agendas and butthurt are in play. This sales thread moving thing seems like a recent development. I know Dale's thread was initially moved to the Mixed section before it was given a reprieve. And my thread was living happily for 10 days before a kind soul decided to report it. And having the occasional mid-eighties book in GSB has never seemed to be a problem before. Just call a mod and have it moved back Literally this is the only way you can proceed. Make sure to tell them that everyone else is doing it (and provide examples), and you should be able to as well. It still looks incredibly bad... but that's the way things seem to be

And having the occasional mid-eighties book in GSB has never seemed to be a problem before. Well it must depend on percentages. Dale said he was only listing "5% moderns" and that the mods should cut him some slack. What was your percentage of moderns?
  16. It looks like I was also a victim of somebody humping my sales thread in GSB and it was moved to Mixed today. The vast majority of the books are bronze. And I'll agree that some of the books are borderline bronze at best and one or two were outliers. But it seems kind of harsh to me. I'm selling a couple books that are clearly Copper and Modern and I started a separate thread for those two. I'd rather just be told clearly the date age cut-offs for each section. And good luck with that because there will never be a universally accepted definition of Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Or like it's been here for years, people can resist the urge to hit the notify button for minutiae. It was addressed to moderation as to why some can do this and others can't... and again, a request for an answer was ignored.
  17. I need a history lesson, since I've only been here since February. I imagine that long ago, the marketplace was one big sales area...just one big Mixed thread. Then, I imagine that some member or group of members thought that it was too messy, and thought that the current sub-forum structure and its rules would be better. I bet there was a democratic process that then established the current structure...a poll, perhaps? Is this basically how it went? If so, who among you veteran boardies spent energy accomplishing the current structure, and how do you feel about the current state of affairs, where the separate sub-fora are de facto returning to one big Mixed thread again because of lukewarm enforcement of the structure you helped create? I don't remember the details. However, forum admin Architect was directly involved. I don't think any changes could be done without the approval of him or whomever is serving in his stead these days. He used to be a lot more active on the boards. He stopped by recently to ban BLB. ...and he did take the time to read my PM concerning favoritism and preferential treatment to certain members too... but he didn't respond.
  18. THE $10 TRULY MIXED SALE Each book listed will be $10. MIXED SALES AREA ! To add more bang for your buck, for every 10 books you buy, pick one extra for FREE... truly free
  19. Seems like freebies would be ok Ed. If its a "sales" thread, then he really isn't "selling" them. I mean it's not a Dark Tower Hardback... but it's free regardless Freebies result in 100% smiles
