  1. That sucks, it looked like a very nice copy too.
  2. No kidding, like just finding out in the last interview that Dave did story boards for Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video. What I would give to have those!
  3. BTW, the interview is GREAT! You get a digital download of the book when you buy the print copy, so there's no need to crack it open at all. A little sample... Jack Kirby to a young Dave : “You know, you should be doing work for the NFL or Time or Newsweek. Comics, it’s just not for you.” He said, “You’re an illustrator. You’re not cut out for [comics]. What I see here is full-blown illustration. You’re not doing comics.”
  4. Here's the link : http://twomorrows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=940
  5. Hmm, looks like The Rocketeer is making a comeback : http://www.dynamicforces.com/htmlfiles/p-C116901.html
  6. Ahh, bummer. Either way, you still shouldn't have had it get all messed up, it should just take longer.
  7. Did you order it from the publisher and go with media mail too? I paid the extra couple bucks for priority, and got it fast and in perfect shape. Seems weird that they would be messed up even if sent media.
  8. There's that one and the 'Feedback Monster' Boss ad as well in some old GP Magazines, they are listed here : http://www.davestevens.com/html/ds_gpi.html Now, I would LOVE to find the posters of those ads, but have been unable to ever find one. I doubt many guitar players of the day would have shelled out $5 for one.
  9. Yeah, that works out alright, especially since you got other stuff. It does tick me off seeing people selling things for double, which I wouldn't have thought about doing until my wife said, "hell, if you can buy them for $5 and people are selling them for $10, get a bunch and sell em". I just can't do that to people I guess. I'd rather share the love and hope it comes back around one day.
  10. Hope you didn't pay more than cover price for it, these are still available from the publisher for $5 : http://twomorrows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=486
  11. Oh also, something I would love to have but cannot find, are the posters of the 2 different Boss ads he did for GP magazine. These must be super rare since not many guitar players would spend $5 on a "Sampler Safari" or a "Feedback Monster" poster.. My one hope is that there is a secret stash of these somewhere that haven't seen the light of day since the 80's
  12. As far as rarity goes, here's my list of the harder things to find in my experience: The Back Issues is a bit tough, no idea how many were printed, but they don't seem to be very plentiful. The second printing of 3-D Zone #16 is a tough one as well. No number or Canadian price on this one. (Free in Canada?!) Seduction of the Innocent Non-3D #1 - I believe there were only 100 copies printed of this one, I've been searching high and low and have yet to come across one. As a completionist I would give a tooth, or some other body part for a copy. Men of Mystery #202 - Fanzine cover for a friend of Dave's wedding, with a personal note from Dave on the cover. This cover was also printed in Selected Sketches & Studies #3 and is of Captain America. There were only 50 printed, and 49 out there, since I have #2 of the 50
  13. If you're patient you can find a copy much cheaper than what's being offered on E-bay currently. Also, as an option for a cover collection, you can always go with a copy of Alter Ego #21 which has 2 covers on the book, one of which is the same from Iger Comics Kingdom. You can get those from the publisher even - http://twomorrows.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=486 For like $5.
  14. Yeah, mine is 1,496 of the 1500. Oh, and here's what's hanging above her, a signed "Wanted" print, sorry for the glare :
  15. Here's mine in my office at work, sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. The statue looks way better in person than in the photo's I've seen so far, also the box is nice has a big shot of the OA, and it also comes with a small sealed booklet that has the same picture as well :
  16. It's listed there, under the publishers section : http://www.davestevens.com/html/ds_darkh11.html
  17. Sorry my friend, that would be me. If I end up coming across another one, and if you're still interested I will let you have the one I bought for the same price I paid. Lets see a scan please. As requested : So close to perfect, except for that darn pencil or pen mark on the top left.
  18. Sorry my friend, that would be me. If I end up coming across another one, and if you're still interested I will let you have the one I bought for the same price I paid.
  19. Orbit came from E-bay, the True Love came from a place I found in the Chicago burbs. The guy is selling everything for $.50 so I loaded a box up of Eclipse and other stuff.
  20. Just scored these today, first one cost me a whopping 50 cents : And this one cost me about 30 cents : Love his stuff, and I'll buy Dave Stevens covers all day for under $1.
