  1. Many thanks to Archon Turtle for an excellent transaction with super fast shipping.
  2. And it came today....Just wow. Thanks again, Stephan. It's in great condition. Super smooth transaction.
  3. (thumbs u Very awesome for the both of you. Two stand up guys with amazing collections.
  4. Heck of a nice looking 6.0. I love those water damage books Thanks. It's weird because there aren't any remnants of water damage to the book (no stains int he inside cover or anything like that) but maybe you're right? There are small tears where the waves are, so I thought it was stemming from those, but I'm still happy with it. On a similar note, I just picked up a really nice #4 in the wild today. It's a really, really nice copy. I have to admit, getting back into the hobby with a bit of disposable income is a lot more fun than when I collected at 13.
  5. And here is the official scan from CGC. You can see the waviness from the ticks on the front cover a lot more in this picture than my previous scan that was provided by the seller (i'm sure on purpose haha). For my first "major" comic purchase in years, I'm pretty pleased with it. However, after seeing some of the copies floating around here, I know I'll catch the upgrade bug.
  6. I have a question for the Crow gurus. I want to complete the original 1-4 run in first print. Is the print number inside the comic itself? Thanks
  7. Yes, I remember borrowing my buddy's Crow TPB in junior high. I always wanted to get some of the individual comics, but they weren't exactly the easiest things to find back then, so this is another start (along with my Walking Dead and TMNT runs). I put a an offer in on ebay, not expecting the seller to take it, but they did. It's graded by PGX, which I'll eventually take out and have slabbed by CGC. I want to read this one, anyway, so buying a PGX copy doesn't concern me as much. I'll just have to be really careful with it. Check it really well for color touch before you send it to CGC. You hit my major concern on the head. I've heard a lot of horror stories about PGX, but I figured I'd run a greater (I think) risk of buying it raw. I just got back into the hobby, so I hope I don't learn my first lesson this early on. When I remove it, I plan on recording the whole process of me putting it into a box, reading it, and sending it to CGC. If it comes back with any problems, you had better believe someone will be getting some nasty emails and calls, though I doubt PGX would help me at all. On a side note, I'm amazed how nice and helpful people are on these boards. I've learned more reading old posts in the past few weeks than all the years I collected growing up.

  9. I think I need to block ebay from my computer for awhile. I couldn't resist and pulled the trigger on a Caliber 1. I swear I'm going to pick up all the books I wanted as a kid/teenager haha.
  10. Ha, I actually meant 2-4, but maybe through 62 is the best bet
  11. Hey everyone, my TMNT 1 officially came back as a 6.0 with white pages. I guess the spine stress was a bit heavier than I originally thought, but I have no idea how it came back with white pages. Anyway, I think I've decided to go ahead and get 2-5 now.
  12. Of the TMNT books, I'm not sure what the official classification is, but Fugitoid book is the only true magazine-sized book. TMNT #1 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prints, #2 1st and 2nd prints, #3 regular 1st print and NYC variant, #4 1st print, and Raphael #1 1st print are all "oversized", meaning they're larger than standard comic books but smaller than magazines. Regardless, all of the books I've mentioned have to be submitted to the CGC under the Magazine tier. Hope it helps. Thanks for the info! It came in the mail today. Amazing. No inside signature, but it's still amazing.
  13. Mine should finally arrive tomorrow or Thursday. I hope I get a surprise like you did. You submitted it to CGC as a magazine, not a comic, correct? Sorry, this whole grading thing is completely new to me.
  14. I know some of you already mentioned it, but did you pick up your copy raw or slabbed? I was really hesitant to purchase one raw, but I figured I would be okay buying one from a more recognized dealer.
  15. As long as your happy with the book, the grade shouldn't matter to you Haha, you are correct. We'll see when I get it in my hands. Honestly, it won't really matter because I'll be like a kid on Christmas when I get the package!
  16. Thanks! They have it as a 6.5. Since I've been out of the comic game for so long, I don't really know a lot about CGC grading, but it looks good to me and was in my budget. Also, being from a big place like Metro, I'm comfortable with buying a raw copy, which I wouldn't be on ebay. Anyway, I'll be happy with a 6.5, but I'm really hoping for a 7.0!
  17. I just joined the boards a week ago to join the Walking Dead 1 club. Well, I think I have the comic bug again, and I had to buy the book I always wanted as a kid, but couldn't afford/find: TMNT 1. I bought it from Metropolis via ComicConnect. It's funny because I tried to buy it for a very similar price directly from Metropolis, but never heard back from them. Anyway, here is a pic: I can't believe I'm finally going to own this book!
