  1. Here is a site that lists scarcity and values of vintage D & D modules, books and boxed sets. Most are common and can be found of eBay regularly for $5-$20, even the non-first printings of the original core books from the late 70s and early 80s. Most of the 1st printings of the books or rule-sets can be valuable as you would expect. There is an early version of the Deities & Demigods book that has stats for the H.P. Lovecraft Cthulhu mythos. TSR used that stuff without permission and were forced to remove them from subsequent printings. That book is worth probably 10 times a regular version. Dungeons and Dragons Scarcity and Value Hey, I have that version! Got it brand new back in the day for Christmas. That is cool Shadow it's neat to be an original owner of that book. I picked one up about 15 years ago in a used book store for about 10 bucks.
  2. I initially kept mine in a metal Band aid box (remember those) and graduated later in my teens to the purple Crown Royal Bag. . .
  3. I agree completely. I am currently running a 1st edition game for our group. We have been playing the 3rd edition rules for several years. First time for 1st edition AD&D in about 12 years, Many, many, more save or die opportunities in the early games. Later versions definitely take the fear of instant death away!
  4. Oh, did I mention I still have a regular gaming group. We play every other weekend. Anyone wanting to let go of their old stuff, let me know. I collect all the old games.
  5. Tomb of Horrors was wicked cool. White Plume Mountain was awesome too. Descent into the Depths of the Earth was cool (3 modules) and there was another one that kind of interfaced with Gamma World where your D&D characters run into a giant crashed spaceship...can't remember the name of that one, but it had a red cover. Expedition to barrier peaks Kicked our behinds every time. Great Modules:. Descent to the Depths of the Earth, Vault of the Drow and Queen of the Demonweb Pits. They were Death on stick, Mates!
  6. Says the man who has 18000 + posts on a comic book forum who's sig line is a dude in blue and red spandex suit climbing a wall. . . Well, there's all different kinds of geeks. As long as you let your geek flag fly. . .who cares! I say rock on!

  9. I still have that one. After months of playing D & D I bought it thinking that my friends would play but none of them wanted to learn a new game. I think that this was the time my friends discovered alcohol. Anyone remember what TSR stood for? Star Frontirers. . .another classic. I also played TSR's Boot Hill, Gamma World (huge!), Gangbusters and Top Secret!
  10. No scan of it, but the earliest one I have is from 1984. Started playing Basic D&D around 1980. Got a few early Villains and Vigilantes character sheets too. Fun times.
