  3. Two status changes today 9/19: 7/29 Value tier now verified 8/29 Standard tier now shipped/safe
  4. Both awesome suggestions! Sweet covers...I'm looking to add two more single framed slabs to finish the batman wall. Any suggestions from my fellow batman fans/collectors? Looking at your awesome wall...I think a golden age Joker and Catwoman cover would look great. Agreed on the Batman 11 as the ultimate Joker cover...Batman 49 would work too. For Catwoman, I might go for Batman 65.
  5. Found this cool looking cabinet thing with 15 long, flat drawers sitting outside an antique store with a tag on it that said "for paper collectibles?". It looked to have been a former tool/hardware chest based on some of the junk I found in it, and was in rather rough shape. Here's initial state: Here's the repurposed finished product...a new paint job and added drawer handles on each drawer with sliders underneath. Lined the drawers with black felt, and filled them with some paper collectibles!
  6. Does that count the 4-5 weeks in encapsulation and QC? 140 moderns sent in late April. Graded June 28. Stuck in Encapsulation Hell ever since with little hope they'll be done before August. It shouldn't take that long to encapsulate books, it really shouldn't. Have a value submission received on 5/6, went scheduled for grading 7/8 and graded 7/10. 15 business days later...still not shipped? Seems like they've improved the grading situation, but that has shifted the bottleneck to QC now. Surely improving QC bandwidth is an easier prospect than improving the grading turnaround was? I wonder how many orders actually make it through the QC/shipping process in a given day This value tier order went to shipped/safe on 8/6. A 3 month turnaround which roughly tracks with their estimate on the site. A pretty nice improvement from the 6 month turnaround not that long ago. If they get a little more QC help they might hit that 40 day target yet (thumbs u

  8. Got an FT economy and FT value submission that have been graded for two weeks now (business day 28 overall). Is the encapsulator broken?
  9. Moderns with invoice date of 8/1 went from graded on 12/10 to shipped on 12/17, so that part of the process went pretty quickly...
  10. Modern submission from 8/1 went scheduled for grading on 11/27 to graded on 12/10. Got all .0's! Hoping that's shorthand for 10.0, but am guessing that's part of the new policy of not publicly revealing the grades until they're finalized/shipped?
  11. Seems like longer than it's ever been in the past. Have a modern submission from 8/1 that went to "scheduled for grading" last Tuesday and is still parked there. Used to get graded within a couple days of hitting that state.
  12. Bought some action figs from John...arrived fast and as advertised (thumbs u
  13. Got a Batman 234 slab...transaction went very smoothly and was shipped quickly, thanks Ronald!
  14. Jeff bought a Marvel silver age key from me...an effortless transaction and great guy to deal with!
  15. What a great series that was back in the day...
  16. Got a nice VF/NM Detective 444. The grading looks right on and it shipped quickly and safely. Thanks!
  17. Got a sweet Daredevil #12...smooth transaction all the way
  18. This cover is unquestionably great, but I have to wonder how this situation materialized? "Hey baby, I know the perfect place for us to go make out...the swamp!"
  19. Some Bat-goodness (gonna need to get me a better scanner for these thick CGC cases...Father's Day gift perhaps )
  20. Bought a couple of nice Daredevil slabs from Dennis...great comics, nice pricing, and shipped fast & secure. Thanks!
  21. Good deal on a couple of BTAS figures...fast shipping & they're in great shape!
  22. Yeah I took it down because it was late when I posted it and I was tired, so I decided to remove it until I could review it today and make sure I was sticking to the facts on hand. What I observed was likely nothing more than a garden variety crack and press on a Batman #18 I was following on eBay. It sold as a universal 3.0 and then two months or so later as a raw from collectors_comics with the spine roll fixed. I've reposted the pix below...I caught on to it based on the distinct pencil mark above the B in the Batman logo. I can't detect any restoration other than pressing from the scans. I've seen differing opinions on pressing all over these boards...but the consensus seems to be that it should at least be disclosed, which I absolutely agree with. That way the the buyer has all the information on the book...like the principle behind CarFax. Since the book that was unslabbed was a universal, and were it resubmitted it would likely still be universal per CGC standards, it's not a cdpaoli/lexy situation where a buyer stands to lose a bunch of cash on an cracked PLOD. They also did not attempt to overgrade this one in the listing text. So, while technically there is nothing nefarious going on here, just some standard comic flipping...full disclosure on the former CGC label and press would be nice. Before: After:
  23. Just picked up a high grade Daredevil 158 and 168 from him. Nice guy, keeps you up to date on your buys, and sells good books at good prices (thumbs u
