Did Moon Knight not ship last week?
-
This should've been a Friday post...
-
This was a bad week to take a break from buying comics.
I took a break during Spider Gwen's 1st app.
Me too.

So...
Hillbilly 1 is selling for $12+ two days after it was(still is) on shelves.
SSBII looking good as well. There will be no 2nd print and no digital according to Eric Powell.

Awkward after sex talk with the Scarlet Witch was great.

Simple, Uncanny X-Men Annual 14 is L&C #8. Low Print, Rightfully first time he flies, but not enough to warrant it as a 1st appearance of the new Superboy as Superboy,
Lois calls him her "Superboy" - the kids hovering and wearing a red cape. I'd call it his first appearance as Superboy.
Regardless, the market will determine what is considered his first appearance.
Agreed with the market statement. It just won't be anything to do with JLK future character as others are promoting.
Don't trust the market, trust your eyes. It's Convergence 2. Even if you aren't a fan of first babies this one is a bit different. If you read that comic it's a pretty important moment in Superman's history.
nvm.

I bought two graded books from him at Heroes, and it was fun sitting down last night and looking through not only the graders notes of the books I bought, but other books he submitted on the same invoice.
The books I bought weren't super high grade, but both are keys and present exceptionally well for the grades they received. I imagine most of the other books on the invoices fared the same way.

discuss an actual modern that's heating up
Venom #2 second print
Agreed. I had the first print on my wall at Heroes and had NUMEROUS people ask me for the second. I've never actually seen one in person.
Tough book and BEAUTIFUL too ! Trying to get them out of other collectors hands is damn near impossible... for good reason !
Which Venom...
I'm guessing the 2011 series with the red background  . I couldn't find any listed on eBay or other sites. I could be wrong, though.
Venom #2 2nd print (2011)
I just don't like the way he's holding that gun. I dig the 4th print pink cover for issue 1 but I am not sure how tough it is ti find.
I've only ever seen one.
I've seen a couple. I bid on an auction a couple months ago that had all the #1 prints. I think I only went up to $50 because I don't really collect Venom. I can't remember what it ended up selling for and can't find it in the completed auctions.
The ones on eBay now are asking stupid money for BIN.

TT had an awesome bunch of $2 books at Heroes last weekend. Saw a Teen Titans #2 reader copy in the pile.
I thought he had a nice selection this year overall. I picked up a nice presentable Swamp Thing 1 from him and mentioned that I had been eyeing his Hawkman 1 that he had in his sub $100 boxes. HIs wife made me a reasonable offer on both that I couldn't walk away from.
He seemed happier this year than in years past. Every time I was at his booth though he was sitting in his foldable lounge chair talking to another dealer. I dealt with his wife.

With all the books being redone is there much benefit to paying the $10 expedited fee? Or are they still getting moderns back in a month if you go the fast route?
Not sure there's a benefit right now. I'm at business day 21 today, the quoted MFT said 15 business days total when I subbed, and it has since been modified to 25 business days. Modern slow-track shows 40 business days...less than twice the time of MFT. I suppose it is taking them extra time to add the CGC patented "waves" to the books.
Modern slow track is no where near 40 business days. People subbing modern slow need to just hunker down and wait for winter before they get their books back.

I think its just his powers that died....or got transferred
I saw a big pile of dust shaped like a man - and two Supermen (one that had a beard). I'm thinking the new 52 Superman is dead.
-
I think DC may have trapped lightning in a bottle with Superman/Superboy. They seem to be doing it right for once in a very long time.
I'm rooting for Superboy. This is the freshest Superman story we've had in a long time.
Also - how about the fact that a Superman died in issue 52 and no one is talking about it.

Superman Lois Clark 8 (superboy) 18k
To be that low I sure did see a lot of issues on the racks of stores I stopped by. Didn't seem like a quick sell out. Felt more like a steady sale. I bought the last two issues from one LCS without much pressure on Wednesday afternoon. My wife picked up two more at another shop for me on Thursday after release.

If anyone is in the Charleston, SC, area, Soundwave Comics in Summerville has a lot of the Wonder Woman and Flash rebirths. I picked up a regular and variant cover today. It's limited to one per customer, but there was a large stack remaining.
Dragon's Lair in Fayetteville still has some of both as well Chase
At least they did yesterday. They've also got copies of Batman, Superman, and Green Arrow too.

Diamond's minimums are as low as they've ever been, which is good.... it certainly helped a smaller shop like mine get started and grow over the year and a half I've been open. And the Publisher's have slowly eased their policies on things... DC's return policy on Rebirth, I think could be the start of something interesting for the Big Two....
Chuck can you explain this new return policy on Rebirth? I heard a shop owner reference it yesterday and I just didn't get it. Was there a minimum or maximum amount that could be returned before Rebirth?
And I can tell that the number of B&M shops is growing. In 2007, there were two shops in a 50 mile radius from my home. Now, there are 6. One just opened and is just 10 minutes away from me.
But the newer shops are scary for me. The people running them aren't comic people. I think they see a business opportunity. They don't know how to run a comics shop. I asked about starting a pullbox at the newest shop and I got this blank stare. The other thing is shops around here have done well when they do comics AND something else, usually used games and DVDs.

"hey we are really busy what do you want from us?" doesn't seem right.
Hi,
This isn't something any of our customer service representatives would say. Do you know who you might have spoken to?
Thanks,
I think he was characterizing his take on the interaction with the CS rep, rather than the CS rep having actually used the words in quotation marks.
Correct, it was wrong of me to use quotes if it wasn't exactly said. however i was left feeling that way cause nothing was done and nothing has been done, business day 43 and still only scheduled.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news again, but the wait is just going to keep getting longer at this point for slow track. They have on site grading at WW Philly this weekend. That pulls folks (and encapsulation equipment) away from Sarasota. (Pretty sure on that - someone else with more experience could verify. Just going by what I've read on these boards).
You were told at least six more weeks right? I'd just sit back and enjoy the summer man. It'll be a long one if you're constantly checking.

This book. I almost forgot about it because I've pretty much given up looking for it.
JC Penny giveaway?

How difficult are Amazing Spider-Man #430 and Amazing Spider-Man #431 to locate?
I bought my copies off these very boards.

Wow. Even the Ghost in the Shell ashcan from Wizard has sold with some meat on the bone:
-
Here's one I didn't know about, or ever bothered to look for
There was a guy here on the boards that literally gave away free copies of this book to boardies a couple years ago:

i'm sure there's a reason to sell a $5.99 comic for $4.15 but haven't figured it out yet.
I just read it and it feels like they tried to cram 3 issues of material into one oversized issue.
Convoluted story with too many moving parts. I sort of want my $6 back.
