  1. Wow! That's a great book!!! Man, that is a big sword. I thought that the Chicago Pedigree was just first issues? Or am I confusing that it another pedigree?
  2. WOW!! That book is impossible to find. reminds me of this Raboy cover
  3. My want list was 4 issues long. I have FCs 123, 142, 164 and I only miss FC 51 now. Yowtch! Pricey and scarce. Good luck. Jack , I have an extra FC 51 with a missing centerfold... Great. You can keep that one and I'll take the one with centerfold

  5. Michael, can you post some scans of the Bugs story inside? I've been wanting to see if these Bark-esque Bugs FCs are worth collecting. The ones I've seen are (do you mean worth reading, worth collecting or both?) -- and so are the early Walter Lantz ones like Woody Woodpecker in FC 288. This is a cover worthy of of a nomination for the favorite cover gallery. Do you know who drew it? Which FC Bugs are you missing? Jack John Stanley, known mainly for his work on Little Lulu, wrote many of these early Bugs Bunny FCs. I don't have the issue Scrooge posted ( ) so I can't personally say if it is his work or not but there is a very good shot that it is. He also worked on many of the early FCs with Walter Lantz characters such as Woody Woodperck or Oswald the Rabbit. I personally think they are quite good. There are a little different in tone then a Barks adventure story. The Barks adventure usually flows together while a long Stanley story is often just a bunch of funny bits bizarrely connected with a lot of emphasis on character pieces.
  6. That is the first Mr. Mind cover. The serial starts a few issues before this. I've decided that I need to get the whole Monster Society of Evil run of Captain Marvel, as I can't see to find the reprint book anywhere cheap. Sadly, that is correct. The Archives seem to stop right before. Best you can do is find readers which seem to be in abundance, just a lot of money to throw around even in VG(isn't it like 20 issues and about $30/ea? ouch) Yeah, about, though you can usually find deals on Captain Marvel if you look around and I am not in any kind of a hurry. I still have some John Stanley and Walt Kelly stuff to hunt down as well. I enjoy this era of Captain Marvel quite a bit and so I think Monster Society of Evil run is a nice target. I should have just bought the darn Monster Society of Evil hardcover when it first came up, but the $100+ price tag scared me off and I thought I could get it cheaper later I think Bud Plant had it on sale for 60 bucks or less at some point in the 90s -- that's when I picked up my copy. Yeah, I know.... I wasn't buying comics at that point and only found out about it too late... Now sold out

  8. Completely agree on the AGC #3, it was the book that was the most difficult to pry out of Steve's hands, I believe. The insides are also quite good, with two stories having really awesome two page splashes (something I haven't seen in too many GA comics) and some really nice artwork. I'd like to be able to find a copy in a little better shape later one and keep this one as a reader. I should scan some of the splashes out of it... AND, I just can't believe that Overstreet doesn't break this out as a classic cover They seem to put classic cover designations on any cover that even comes close these days, but they can't pull this one out
  9. I really don't know what they were thinking of when they came up with this cover. Nice set of books! They weren't. Hey now... I LOVE the Archie fish cover. It is just so... bizarre. Completely GA. I just need to get the Archie football head cover to complete the set.

  11. Some recent new books in my home coming from a complicated trade / cash deal with 143ksk that took many months to finally complete and I had to actually go to his house to close the deal.
  12. Big kudos to ft88 for some wonderful Walt Kelly books and some cool silver DCs
  13. I'm way behind in my kudos, but thanks to nikos61 143ksk Point Five Flying Donut Powajemes Comic Supply all for excellent transactions.
  14. I'd love to get a copy of that.
  15. Wow, those are pretty cool. I've seen a lot of the Gottfredson via various reprints but most of this stuff is new to me.
  16. I picked mine up for around $10 - 15 from Joseph Koch on ebay a few years, and they had many available for that price. Neat book, though as mention the reproduction isn't that great.
  17. Nice Classics Mica. I've got a short box of readers, they are neat comics. Do you try to get all the different covers?
